Black debut for Bears.

Dolphins spill the kick; Black puts himself on the short side and then steps back and comes open to throw a huge pass to an unmarked Tonihi to score untouched.

Good vision and reaction.

Kicks the goal too.

It is a long progression for him from here to the NRL but man, all the signs are there, he just looks like he has whatever 'it' is.

Black times the pass on the right and Puru runs 50 to score, the timing of the run scored that try.

Bears are killing the champions 16-0.

Black's kicks are just tormenting Kava.

Can't believe the Dolphins, you have Waqa the biggest meanest kid on the planet and you don't run him once at Black.

Dolphins just terrible ball control and haven't given themselves any chance.

Bears taken their chances, Black two really good touches and some great bombs. Just wish he wouldn't sit on the right hand side.

I agree one or two times he just been doing too much trying a bit to hard.

The kick was just too ambitious, pretty hard to jump from one side to the other and kick a cross field kick to land on the corner post for your winger. His best kicking was right hand side, right pocket and let the winger drop it.

Roll it in and let them ruck it out again. Once he was on the left and nothing was happening.

With the ball he's been fine, two nice touches.

Yeah if he went on that left side with Bryce, Tonini and Innes with McConnell and Puru chiming in that could be lethal. Seems he has struggled to get any sort of threatening football going down that right edge outside of Puru’s try.

His kicking has just been well beyond Mal Meninga level. You have blokes who still kick like a schoolboy at the age of 21-22 in NRL he kicks like a bloke with a bit maturity and strength behind his boot which is ideal for a 17 year old. Obviously had the cross-field kick and the kick out on the full but when he has just put it in that right corner he has kicked very well and Redcliffe wingers haven’t been able to handle it.

Bryce is such an effort player, great defence. Hasn't been off yet. He wouldn't like not topping the tackle count last week.

Kailahi pushes off Bryce to score- should not have said anything.

Dolphins still in this somehow.

Tough afternoon for the Dolphins - they also went down in the Cyril Connell Cup.

Marley McLaren with a double for the Bears.

Wynnum 0/2 to start the season- Bukowski played his first game today. Think he misses his class of 23.

Inness' run to set up Tonih try was my Bronco play of the round. Great run and speed up the middle.

Now we just need to see what happened to Shalom O'Ofau.

Is he still at Wynnum? Or did the Seagulls forget he played that one game for them last year?
