All of the mail I've been seeing on Twitter says Ponga won't be playing this weekend so I don't see Ponga being picked after not playing for so long.

Billy slater thinks he's a God coach and has the arrogance that goes with it. Personally I don't think he's all that great. Just watching how he handles the media.. "we are still queenslanders" what a cringe thing to say. Picking ponga just confirms it. He's a terrible utility, can't defend in the line and is a specialist fullback. Much better putting someone like cobbo there who can carry tough and defend anywhere.

Qld have been very shit this year as well and got quite lucky with the send off in game one. NsW put them to the test in that game despite having one less player.

Ultimately I hope they lose so Billy might pick less broncos players for the pointless exhibition next year.

We’ve contained him before.

He relies on the momentum he generates when given time and space, so you cut that off with good line speed and getting numbers in the tackle (it helps if you have one person cutting him off at the legs as well). Even if you give away a six again, if you keep getting in his face and not giving him the space he needs, he will implode out of frustration and start becoming a liability for NSW.

I’m sure Slater would have had a plan.

Billy is pretty much the perfect Origin coach ... but coaching Origin is a very big difference to coach an NRL side ... just ask Mal.

Well if that's the case I wouldn't mind seeing Val on the wing with Gagai and Hammer in the centres.

Val ain't cutting it in the centres anymore... his defence is just struggling too much... but if he's still got it as a winger then we're sorted, because he nears origin Gagai levels from the wing.

I think that's the way I would go as well

Hammer and Cobbo on the left (holy **** what a combination that could be) and Gagai and Val on the right... another very strong combination.

Would be good to see Gagai get a return and possible send off in an origin decider at Suncorp... imagine the emotion he would have winning a decider at Suncorp as a possible send off
