A quarter of the England squad play in the NRL, with John Bateman (North Queensland Cowboys), AJ Brimson (Gold Coast Titans), Herbie Farnworth (Dolphins), Kai Pearce-Paul (Newcastle Knights), Morgan Smithies (Canberra Raiders) and Dom Young (Newcastle Knights) being picked.

Brimson, who has won a State of Origin series for Queensland, has been selected after switching his allegiance to England this year.

Brimson was eligible for England through his mother, but needed the approval of the International Rugby League tribunal to switch his allegiance from Australia, another tier one nation in rugby league.

Six NRL players are in the England rugby league squad for the upcoming Ashes series against Australia, but there's no room for the most consistent player of the Super League season.

I’m assuming their coach hasn’t watched the 205 version of Dom Young.

I reckon they line up something like:
1. Welsby
2. Young (I’d go Johnstone)
3. Brimson
4. Farnworth
5. Burgess
6. Lewis
7. Smith
8. Lees
9. Clark
10. Walmsley
11. Pearce-Paul
12. Bateman (not who I would pick here, I hope Nzemba is injured and not omitted)
13. Smithies

14. Litten

yeah England are in big trouble
 
I’m very interested to see how Cleary, Grant and Walsh work together. All are dominant players, who takes the backseat? I think if they gel, it’s frightening to oppositions though.
