Also that he wasn't binned during the game.
Guy lying on the ground and he has literally anywhere to hit him, but instead he decides to hit him in the head.
This was after he collected Toby high earlier in the game and sent him for a HIA.
Now he only gets a fine... it just keeps reinforcing that this little shit can do whatever the **** he wants on the field because he's one of the boys

What's even more interesting is that it was charged as "Dangerous Contact" instead of "High Tackle". Dangerous Contact only has grades (and Grade 1 is a bit of a pisstake here), but High Contact (which this was), also has to be categorised as "Careless", "Reckless" or "Deliberate". You would have to think Mahoney's effort was at the very least Reckless, but considering his movements leading up to contact, I challenge anyone to argue that it not actually Deliberate.
Edit: It looks like the NRL has removed "Deliberate" and only has Careless or Reckless. Below is the definition for Reckless:
A Reckless High Tackle is when a defending player makes forceful contact with the head or neck of an attacking player. The high contact will be deemed reckless when a player foresees high contact before or during the action of a tackle and carries on with the tackle regardless of that risk. A player may “foresee” high contact when starting (or even during) a tackle even if he closes his eyes or looks away at the last moment.

Note that a 1st offence for a Grade 1 Reckless High Tackle is 4 weeks (3 with early guilty plea). Isn't he a lucky boy.
