2025 NRL General Discussion Thread

You know if I was into conspiracies, this would be such an easy way to get around the salary cap. E.g. sign Cleary for unders, pay extra to his dad (a selerate cap I believe), dad signs over family property to Cleary as extra payment.

"He called that home until two years ago, when there was an internal transfer of the family home into his name, at a value of $1.7m. The four-bedroom home on the Nepean River was bought by dad, and coach, Ivan Cleary, for $1.175m in 2013 during his first stint as Penrith coach."

The NRL has AXED Graham Annesley's weekly briefing for the 2025 season.

Andrew Abdo said:

“As part of the post season review in 2024, we decided that we do not require the regular Monday football briefings,” Abdo said in a statement seen by the NewsWire.

“We will continue to update media, fans and clubs on significant football matters as required in the season.”

Weak... they can't claim that no one was interested because all the outlets would use it to fill columns the next day... he's just too weak to do it every week and keep justifying the refs constantly fucking things up.

Now it will be media driving narrative on decisions

Wrong their, should be they're.

But on the Annersley thing, so clearly not only did Dominic Young's butt cost us first place on the ladder, it made him pull the plug on trying to justify the unjustifiable.
