2025 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

I doubt he gives a **** as he's counting his wads of cash but DCE sure does make himself look like the ultimate flog when it comes to contracts.

He signed one of those 1 million a year 10 year deals and then at the end of it, he tells them he's walking so he can essentially get something to similar to what Dylan Brown is about to get at the ripe old age of 36.

This isn't an Adam Reynolds situation who just wanted an extra year, DCE wanted that decimal shifted one more to the right.

Can you blame him though?

He's maximising his earnings while he still can. I'd be doing the same thing.

Unfortunately the game is all a business now, it's not a sport. Money rules the world, it's fucked.

100% on the Titans. I think he admitted as much in the press conference, he wanted to see how much he could get out of Manly.

Reserving judgement on this one for the moment. Something on the Manly side of things stinks IMO. If he re-signs after the whole "Respectfully, no" speech though...absolute flog.
It’s called Pies. Apparently he and DCE don’t see eye to eye.
DCE apparently also thinks Mestrov is a ****. Just what I’m hearing from a Manly Die Hard who has “sauces”. Which means nothing tbf, but he usually knows shit 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm reading Manly and possible other clubs are trying for Haas. We can't let him hit open market and just give him what he wants for 10 years.

I'm assuming leading questions from the journos... or maybe even planted questions.

Quote from the Manly CEO was basically we want a high end prop and indicated that any team would want Haas... also indicated that he's on a lot of money at Brisbane and it would take a lot to get him out of there.

To me that sounds like someone conceding that they won't be able to get him.

Just can’t see him uprooting his brothers, when by all accounts they are more stable now than what they probably have ever been.

Not just that tho .. he wants a premiership, which he has worked so hard for, and he wants that with and for Brisbane.

I'm sure that article took some tough investigative journalism to figure out

Payne has experienced Siebold before, and he clearly plays better under Madge - can't see him going to Manly

You don't need to worry. The comments would clearly have been in answer to a question from a reporter unprompted that would have been like: 'Would you be interested in Haas if he were available?'

Who is going to say no here?

Can’t be fun playing under Pies. The Moses Pies magic could be starting to gather steam at Manly. Turbo injured, not looking great for them.

No matter how good haas is, and he’s in the convo for the best of all time in the position, a prop isn’t going to win you games if you have a spine of tevaga, brooks, ?, hoppa (not including turbo because he’s injured most of the year). The rest of their forward pack is also diabolical.

Many a journo, pundit and indeed posters on BHQ are quick to repeat the mantra that props don't win you premierships, but I tend to disagree.

We never had a premiership winning pack until we signed Lazzo. It was his inclusion that added the finishing touches to our first winning team. He also did it with Canberra and Melbourne.

If we want to win a premiership any time soon keeping Haas is a priority.

Yep and look how much Penrith even are struggling at the moment with no JFH.

Arthur at Roosters too in 74/75.

I think they win you premierships but not sure you need a million dollar one. Leota and JFH were on “good money” and won four in a row.

Chris Anderson used to tell Bullfrog give me a good prop, great half and winger that’ll score 20 tries and I’ll go close to winning every year.

Apparently Will Pryce has been released immediately and is heading back to ESL... completely wasted the last 2-3yrs of his development

There used to be a saying that I tend to agree with and that is:

Forwards win you matches ... Backs determine by how much
