2025 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

Chicken sandwich has been released from the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs say it was "mutual"

The reports say that he has been cleared to play again and has found a new "yet-to-be-confirmed club, which isn’t the Dolphins."

As much as people dislike him, i hope this neck injury doesnt affect him for the rest of his career. He's a really good talent and if he realises his potential he's going to be a top player.

For sure. I don't think anyone wishes this injury to end his career but it doesn't bode well for him, neck injuries and particularly series ones, tend to end careers and his being congenital probably makes it even worse.

Plath extends until 2028.

His rise has been meteoric, from ACL playing BRL in 2021- kicks the winning field goal in the Colts Grand Final when he comes back to Dolphins long term deal for another four years.

We get accused of missing a lot of players, often unfairly, but that one was a real miss by us IMO.

It is now but he wasn't showing his 2024 form in 2022. he was playing Colts/Cup.

But I agree even given his low station in life coming off the bench in the Colts finals in 22 you could see there was something there. Kicking field goals filling in at second row and just being a footballer.

I always think second gen players are worth a shot because they have been around the game/club their whole life- they are a bigger chance of getting it.

I thought the same about Josh Allen last year and he's now at Redcliffe too.

I wouldn't call it a big miss to be honest. He plays lock in which we have Carrigan who is a better player currently there (he might be moved this year however to balance the team), so its not a big miss. The misses that hurt the most are the ones when you miss the player and struggle to fill their position with a player that has the same caliber of talent like for example missing a Cameron Smith and having to put up with Andrew McCullough. That's the definition of a real miss in my opinion.

You don't have to be a generational talent to be a big miss. Capewell would have been a big miss but he's certainly not going to be an immortal.

Plath would have been invaluable last season; he's hard working and the type of player that keeps everyone grounded because of where he has come from. He can play half and backrow and will do anything a coach tells him. Do you think Plath is ever doing to ask for a release because he isn't playing 7? Be late for training? whinge about his hand?

Last night in his press conference, I am grateful because I should be concreting not playing NRL.

He's won their player of the year on the back of being over-looked all his life and is being spoken about in a future Origin capacity.

He's as RL as they come. Once you would have had 20 of them in a club and two Wendells now you have 20 Wendells and need to find the 2-3 Plaths.

whinge about his hand?

Well , when he gets put in 1st grade on the wing with his hand bandaged up like a mummy and his legs are kaput to the point he can hardly break out of a jog .

But the coach puts him out there anyway .

Then re injures his hand then we`ll see .

Of course it`s only a hand . You`ve got two . Just shut up and soldier on .

Cool story, no idea what it means but will read again.
