2025 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

Really dumb from Manly. There's not many halves in the NRL that can win you a premiership. If you've got one you gotta keep them, forget their age and succession planning and whatever else, keep them until the wheels fall off. Otherwise you are just making up the numbers.

Its interesting that on Fox, they were saying DCE and Siebold don't really get on and let's be honest, knowing the coach as we do, it isn't surprising if true.

I find it very hard to comprehend that Manly didn't at least offer him a contract when negotiations began in December when he indicated he wanted to go around again considering just how valuable he is to that team. Also, his game record is absurd. He has missed like 20 games for manly since he has been playing with them and the majority of those are origins. Now that's durability

Not to defend Manly, but from What DCE said publicly he made this decision a while ago and told Manly not to offer him a contract, unless another club do first, which hasn't happened yet, (According to him)

Dylan Walker? The career utility? I mean ok, not sure he is going to add much to the discussion though.

He was the #6 in the Kiwi team that flogged Australia 30 + nil .
And just signed a fat contract . But don`t let that get in the way of your narrative .

Well don't let the wrong player get in the way of your usual pointless posting either.

And because you clearly won't pick up on it, you are talking about the wrong name.

Nah they offered the Reyno deal - 1 year .
He said that is disrespectful . I`m out of here . Then last night they called in to the media and said how about 2 years ? Daley said that boat has sailed .

OK Dylan Brown .
How`s the view from up on that high horse ?

Pointless posting ? Nice to be recognised by an expert I suppose .

Ok so now you've got your facts straight, when has Brown ever actually played like a 7? Very few 6s make the transition to 7. There is a massive reason why 7s are usually paid much higher than 6s. Most 7s can play 6 because while they can manage a team, they can also play second fiddle due to their play making.

Most 6s struggle to manage a team because the skillset that makes them great as a six is that they are usually good runners and sometimes passers of the ball. And yes, you do get some 6s who are given the job of playing as a 7 and usually, like Brown as a clear exhibit A, they really struggle.

Brown's contract is a joke and if that is the basis of your argument, you aren't on strong ground here because Newcastle have made a huge mistake giving the bloke the contract they have. Brown has not once played well when he has been asked to game manage.

Now in terms of Katoa and DCE, they would be a great match because Katoa could easily play 6 due to his athleticism and would learn on the job from one of the few elite 7s in the game. If The get him, it would be a huge boost for them because if you are picking between Kodi Nikorima and Daly Cherry-Evans, it isn't even a choice that takes time to think about.

2 years at 1.5 didn`t do it .

I will be very surprised if the Dolphins buy him . Katoa is such a gun . Where would they play them ?
It's not too hard to comprehend a world where:

6 - Katoa
7 - DCE

is better than:

6 - Nikorima
7 - Katoa

especially for only 2 years. Hell, what Katoa can learn from watching/playing with a DCE would be priceless.

Last night on NRL 360 one of the guys (not sure who) very briefly let it slip that Siebold didn't attend DCE's wedding which I presume happened in the off season. If true that says something.

He must be waiting to hear what Reyno is going to do. Once he knows he can/can't come here it becomes much easier for him. Fair play to him I'd do the same.

That was buzz and there was no explanation around that.
How many of the team were invited.
Was it a huge wedding did he have it Australia or even NSW . Was it family only with very close friends.
To just throw that out was gossip column nonsense at best.

DCE was on nine last night and said Manly hadn't offered him a contract at all and they had been in conversations with them about his plans since December.
