Q-CUP 2025 Queensland Cup Discussion

Best on Cyril debut was solid, fielded kicks well but limited attacking chances. Souths attack was pretty average.

Scott with a massive hit to get the ball loose and Wynnum score. That's impressive from Scott.

Kendall with a great run and try from 70m out. That's as good as a hit up from your end gets for a back.

Bryenton makes a break and kicks for Tupuse to score. Last five minutes has been pure Broncos.

Souths looked terrible for most of that half then last 10 minutes three Broncos just fixed it.

Scott has done something to his shoulder just walked straight off in pain.

Armstrong first try for Penrith Flegg today- hit the hole between two Souths defenders on the left edge, run 30m to the fullback, round the fullback and he doesn't touch you score in the corner,

Top three Round one of Meninga best Broncos.

1. Verhoeven try double v Jets- great speed and footwork and working with his half. Bears doing nothing for 30 minutes and then Verhoeven goes bang with a great try. Bears then score the next four.

2. Kendall try v Wynnum- Souths going nowhere- what seems like a back taking a hit up out of his end and then 70m later putting the ball down after going round the fullback. Souths down and Kendall made a real give me the ball play.

3. Scott defence V Souths, beautiful low tackle jolts the ball loose and Wynnum score soon after. Got injured and went to the sideline to get it fixed and then straight back into it. Real tough side to him yesterday.

All three Broncos on debut in Meninga.

Coates, Innes, Tonihi, Trew and Verhoeven all named for Bears- what a backline, good luck Norths.

If the Bears six and seven don't break records for passing they're kidding.

We'll do well if we can keep Horne.

Kids a weapon and will likely be a Capewell type player. Has the skill and ability to play centre, second row and lock.

Great hands, like having another back on the edge.

Tigers kick, Wynnum juggling it on their line- three tackles still not to the 20m.

Scott, calls it sets himself and kicks it from his 20m to about Tigers' 22m.

Wynnum score from the tap and go 14-0 up.

That is a very very smart play your second game in Meninga.

Innes 13 try in 21 Meninga games. If Norths don't get a read on that right hand side he will finish today with 15.

Could have had two then.

From the scrum, Bears go to Innes and he passes it off to Tonihi- on the Bears left so he's playing both sides.

He fell over the line after he passed so cost himself and given Tonihi a try untouched.

Great work both sides of the field.
