Black looks enthused, nice little blind side run, pass for Souths first try.

Weaver puts Croker straight through Black and Tweed score.

Tweed just marching up field too easily. Te Kura is gassed.

Hunt has to get his interchange right today.

Tweed score.

Weaver has to make Te Kura make tackles. Souths can't hold them in the middle so they are all going in to help and McGrady is just going to eat that up out wide.

Tweed under the posts, too easy. Magpies are in real danger here.

20-6 and the last four tries. Still 11 minutes until HT- Souths can't let this be 30-6 at half time.

Black with a beautiful pass for Leota to score. Souths weren't really going anywhere so Black has done well to salvage something.

Leota caught the long pass and put it down.

Can't beat Milford stepping around to score.

Tweed 20-18, pressure back on Tweed now.

Bai great run on the left edge, Tweed go far right and Stephenson scores untouched.

Honestly Souths you've done all that work to get back and then let Tweed go in at 24-18.

Stephenson now seven tries in six Cup games at 19.

Bai straight past Black.

Black went up to far, turned around and no chance stopping Bai from there.

Simpkins goes through Te Kura and scores under the posts. Te Kura has only been on for 10 minutes after a long break.

Dying seconds, fifth tackle Magpies, Black goes cross-field kick to Leota. Leota jumps up between the two Seagulls, clean catch and passes it to Coburn who is set to-

Penalty Seagulls!

Damn.

Tempest and possibly Leota off-side on the kick. Knew it was too good to be true.

Souths lose 36-32

Had a chance right at the end but gave away a penalty. That's the 8th game they've lost after they've scored more than 20 points.

Saw this try, te kura had his inside to protect, if he went for Simpkins the 9 would’ve gone straight through, should’ve been the back rower picking up on the lead. Not Te Kura’s fault

Te Kura turned in watching Cook; if he stays square, he's a lot better chance of stopping Simpkins run under the posts between him Tararo.

A dummy half running parallel to the try line then throwing a ball to a forward to go between two forwards and score untouched has lots of things wrong with it but Te Kura not coming up straight and giving up his outside shoulder is a big part of it.

Te Kura got through 53 minutes yesterday, 53 minutes for Souths would be like a whole game- you can be defending for 50 of that.

In good news thought Black was really engaged yesterday, go close to his best Cup game. He looked enthused and was poking around the field. Nice long balls for Leota. Two try assists and that's nearly as much as he's had all year- five in total now. Souths aren't going to play finals, so he has five games left.

No Mozer? Maybe helped him take control.
