I definitely disagree with the Joe Offa call though. Willison is a way more damaging ball runner and has better work rate at similar ages.

Are you over looking his defence ?
He is one of the few guys in the NRL who can give ball runners negative post contact metres ! I`ve seen him drive ball carriers backwards after contact .
Joey fckin Offa aint doin that !

They tell me Quai Ward is not up to it in NRL .
I asked about him a cpl of weeks ago as in what happened to ?

An in form Cobbo will win you a lot more games than a good back rower .
Whether he can regain that form I don`t know .
I think McGuire's coaching style with either make or break Selwyn.
If Madge can get him right every week and fit it will make us a far better footy team.

Not sure how Selwyn was managed under Kev but this might be the kick up the ass Cobbo needs.

If he is not fit don`t play him . Pretty simple remedy .
We heard he was not happy having pain killers before matches around Origin time . Then his form went off the rails . Couldn`t run full pace and looked disinterested .
Coincidence ?

Kobe Hetherington now confirmed to be staying. Madge called him last week and Kobe likes what he heard. Apparently cannot wait to rip into pre-season training under Madge but is a bit worried after hearing from Prime Ministers XIII teamates who have been coached by Madge about whats in store - training wise. Madge saying he will get the best out of Kobe and loves his tough, no frills style.

Just saw on the news down here.

Just on the sports news here

And 9 reporting, Langer standing down as on field trainer, but will have a off field job. (not sad about it, it's about time it happened.)

Not that it means much but Selwyn was the only player to 'like' the announcement of Madge on instagram haha - from that + the podcast comments = my assumption that he's excited.

Speculative but hopeful!

That's actually interesting.
I know you can't really go off likes on Instagram and that but then again it does say something.

I saw that & noticed Paix liked it too ahah, I could imagine players might not want to ‘like’ it in case Billy Walters sees a bunch of his teammates appearing to be thrilled by his father getting sacked

Great news and I'm not surprised at all madge contacted him early on. He seems to love those all effort, hard working type players.

And I think only Patty liked the ‘thanks kevvie’ post!

Selwyn, Kobe and Paix are all decent players who fell off a cliff under Kev.

Kobe and Paix are great squad filler players who don’t break the bank. The performance of guys like them says a lot about a coach.

If Madge wants to get a team behind his brutal preseason, it’s a great idea to motivate the fringe guys by telling them starting spots are up for grabs if they can earn it.

Their competition for spots are only Billy and Jensen. It’s not that high of a hill to climb to take their jersies

With Oates retiring just now, Karapani remains the only player not yet extended for 2025.
