OFFICIAL 2025 State of Origin - Game I Discussion

I'm a little worried with our bench.
Collins a bit down on previous years, and Loiero is a penalty magnet. Dearden has also never played decent minutes in the middle which I assume he will have to do. I like Fermor but the bench middles will need to lift.
And we know NSW will get a thousand metres from To'o, Lomax, Edwards and Crichton, so their forwards will be loading up on defence.
I do like the attacking threat Dearden will bring and I expect Munster and Ponga will be absolutely frothing to create some havoc.
Someone needs to target and smash Gus Crichton early and often.

I have a dreadful feeling that it might play out like the women's origin. I.e. we hang with them early, but they end up being too big, fit and fast for us to handle.

I think if we're going to win, we need to score lots of points early. I don't think we'll br able to chase them down.

Fox league reporting the cockroaches had an opposed training session with Wynnum Manly today. How come of everyone they had an opposed training session with a Q-Cup side?
Have they flown into Brisbane already ? &
Is it how it’s supposed to work?

I think they flew in today or yesterday?

It's interesting they're having an opposed session with a local Qcup team... I'm not sure if that's typical, because I don't think they're usually in town that early.

I do recall Qld bringing Haas into camp before he was an NRL mainstay to replicate Andrew Fifita.

Maybe the amount of rain down in Shitney means they wanted to get out of that shithole early... think I saw footage last week of their training ground with huge puddles everywhere

Opposed that year was Broncos Under 20's.

Funnily Wynnum did the Qld team and Blues.

Qld did the Falcons too on Sunday.

You'd have to think QLD will try and throw some expansive attack and try and unsettle NSW a bit tonight. I can't see them trying to get into the grind or they'll be rucking it out of their own end all night.

The meters in NSW back 5 mean their forwards will be fresh for alot longer then QLDs and likely have much better line speed in defence. I can see NSW just chugging up the middle third throguh QLDs middle so QLD can probably compress their defence a little. In attack I think they need to be turning the ball back underneath and early shifts. Basically anything but running into what will likely be a NSW brick wall.

Think we will get dusted tonight. Hopefully not.

Territory will be huge I think. Need to play the game away from our try line, cause with Latrell and Crichton they're not going to need much to score. Problem is that it's gonna be hard with Cleary and Moses kicking game. Hopefully we have something to counter that with.

Yea, same 😞

The hurt from where the Broncos are at at the moment is having a bit of an effect (hopelessness lol) on all of us, aye 😞

Arghh. It hurts to be in love 🤷‍♀️ lol

Anyway … QUEENSLANDER!!! (said with absolutely no enthusiasm at all) 😔 lol
I started making fun of people at work. That kinda helps me getting into the spirit.
