I'm quite certain that the viewership and numbers for State of Origin will begin to decline over the next five years. People used to watch it because it wasn't just a regular NRL game.it was officiated differently, and certain things were allowed to flow.

However, with V'landys and his crackdown, it honestly feels more like another standard NRL game now. There are endless penalties for one team until they pull ahead, and then the referee manages the game to give the other team a chance to come back.

It's just so predictable, and I dislike that they can't let Origin remain the unique spectacle it should be.
