[2025 Trial] Broncos vs Bulldogs

Regardless of anything at all, in both games we've looked very fit. Something that was definitely lacking last year IMO.
Yea but with 57% possession, and unlimited reserves, you wouldn't expect us to look gassed either.

Anyway, I'm meant to only be positive lol. Although I think that only works when you are all negative. When you guys are positive, I don't know what to do with myself...

- Shiba was upgraded to a development contract a fortnight ago, making him eligible for round 1 selection.
- Hungry for a long term deal, he has left behind his child in Townsville to give his family a better future if he fires at Brisbane.

- Madge quotes:

“I’m looking at him for round 1, definitely,”
“It will all come down to this week’s final trial and Gehamat has a great chance to continue his form against the Bulldogs."
“If Gem keeps performing, the opportunities will be there for him."
“His application in the pre-season has really impressed me."
“He has been in the NRL system for a number of years, but I feel like he has matured, I wanted to see his commitment and he’s definitely done that."
“With what he has done in pre-season and the trials, he’s given himself a real good shot.”
“Gem is a lovely young man,”
“In my first meeting with him, I could see he was really hungry and I’m impressed that Gehamat has been prepared to move to Brisbane away from his family, it’s a big driver in why he wants to succeed here, doing it for his young one.”
“I like his style of defence,”
“He’s had to change his body shape and he’s done that. I like that he is very coachable. He sits in the structures that we want."
“I’ve said to everyone at this club in pre-season that I will give everyone a chance, positions are up for grabs ... and Gehamat is living up to what I’m asking of the group.”
Oh shit, it might actually be happening! I truly thought it was just a rocket up Mariner and that he'd be our centre round 1.

Oh boy. PTSD from Shiva's last stint with us, where I swear everytime he had the ball I expected an error.

Oh well, in Madge we trust.

Yeah, it’s the sweet sound of setting professional standards and accountability.

We haven’t seen it at the club in about 8 years so it feels a little strange and confusing to us

I'm worried everyone (including myself) is getting way to excited in the way we played againt a crap Titans. Including the performance of some players.

Bulldogs will hopefully be a better test to see where we're at.
Haha i'm definitely guilty of it, I wasn't expecting to win that trial so emphatically considering how many first grade players Titans selected so the performance probably just outweighed my expectations. Although it was pleasing seeing our fringe players dismantle a team with Fifita, AJ, Foran, Fotuaika etc. I think it was more the titans being awful than us being extremely good.

Haas needs lesssons from Te Kura and Willison on how to crash over the line.
Thats one thing I love about Te Kura. It's a good thing that the biggest player in the NRL loves to crash over close to the line, would be frustrating to see some big fella like him not doing that "cough, cough" (payne haas)

Te Kura's ball playing as well is exciting too, the more he refines that in the coming years he will be a problem for defence. He nearly put someone over in the Titans game then went to back it up the next play and go over himself but then dropped the unnecessary hard spiral pass from Billy when he was right next to him.

While I completely agree with your sentiment, I can’t recall any instance where he went himself on the line and wasn’t successful.
Yes, I'm worried this new look spine (Paix, Reynolds, Hunt, Walsh) is going to score too many points and make the competition unfair for everyone else. And it's not going to get any fairer when Mam and Mozer are available.

I honestly don't see how mam and mozer make the squad again. I reckon they might both find themselves working on building some combinations together in qcup before they are back into the NRL side. That is if Reyno and Hunt stay healthy of course. Either way we are spoilt for choice!!

Giving you and the rest of the forum permission to go back to loving Kev for the club legend that he is.

Bill lost his mum as a 5 year old and deserves every chance he gets in life. Nepotism or not it's all in the past. Time for everyone to move on.

So when Kevvie said when he was sacked the poor performance of the Broncos had affected his family negatively .
You reckon it was his daughter feeling the strain ? I highly doubt it . My money is on the Mrs . And her having two bobs worth to say to his critics .

Let's reconvene when both are available. If Mozer's shoulder passes, I'm certain he'll take Billy's place at 14, with Paix playing 60 minutes.

But let's get another look at Paix today before jumping the gun.
