2026 NRL General Discussion Thread

You'd love to think with this new ruling this is exactly what our club is doing. It has to be.
Unless they're playing for Hunters at 16 they're probably not on the R&R's radar.

Need to be the biggest and the fastest in 16's to get the Broncos attention

Losing week in, week out, is demoralising for anyone. If you also have some mental health issues, it could all be just too much.

Galvin's management has sent a legal letter to the Tigers alleging that he has been bullied and not provided with a safe work environment.

This situation is getting messier all the time.
Does the letter actually name anyone from the club who is allegedly doing this?
He is copping it on social media from tigers fans but I don't know what the club can do about that.
Be interesting to see if he is named in next weeks team tomorrow but looks doubtful at the moment.

It all just stinks of making his staying at the Tigers untenable, so he can get an immediate release.

He's contracted to the Tigers. I wouldn't let him and his manager be rewarded for acting like ****wits, he can play reserve grade and be given all the "mental health" support the club can offer, but he's not going anywhere.

The Tigers are damned if they do and damned if they don't IMO. How long has Moses been his manager for? If he only just took him on, I get the agitation but I'm pretty sure he's had Galvin for years...so why accept the deal last season? It just stinks to me. Moses and his crew are a stain.

Getting weird

On Bulldogs forum

Heard this morning on SEN that the letter alleging unsafe workplace was received last week, not yesterday - before the social media posts? before the meeting?

Yep, I'm not as critical here of Galvin as I am on his management. It's Moses that I don't want winning out of this.

Brad Arthur reportedly the preferred foundation coach for the Western Bears.

The new club will also reportedly look to poach union players from South Africa and Argentina

Argentina, ok maybe but South Africa? Good luck with that.

That said, I do like the idea behind it - a huge SA community in Perth and might help get buy in.

That’s one of the most irritating, exhausting and worst rounds of NRL I’ve ever witnessed.. Right down there with THAT magic round in 2021..

The powers that be need to give this whole thing a hard reset before the NRL turns into something resembling the Hunger Games

Apparently that round had the most sin bins ever... even more than that bullshit magic round a couple years back.

The refs have no idea on the field... and I'm pretty sure their mandate is to stay the **** out of things and let the bunker sort it out and tip you off... the bunker is then going beyond their remit and pulling play back several sets later.

In Manly vs Penrith they had literally changed possession, but the bunker took it back and gave the now defending team a penalty.

That differed from literally the game that was on before it, where a player was binned, but there was no penalty.

No one knows what the ****ing rules are anymore... and that's before you even get to the phantom six agains that don't even get put under any scrutiny.

And the gas lighting that happens on the bunker decisions so they can stay with the onfield ref.

The officiating of the game is below rock bottom at this point... it's literally turning people off the game... I know because I didn't bother watching some this weekend, because of it.
