2026 NRL General Discussion Thread

If 6-agains aren’t up for changing, just change the 7 tackle set for it to only be for kicks outside the attacking 40.

Anything else is a normal 6 tackle set from the 20 - attacking knock ons, grubbers etc. bring some aerial attack back into the game

Or just go and watch footage of the Super League from 1997

Gives greater advantage to the team that scores .
Can keep the opposition in their own half . Then receive the ball from 5th kick in better field position than from kick off to the in goal .

This rules survey goes out to the clubs every year, the rules committee of Pearce, Bennett, Cleary and Ricky then go through it and have a look.

All that has happened here is the SMH has seen the question and put it in the paper so people are bloody outraged.

Teams kick early in sets for this reason; it's not the disadvantage you think.

You score, kick deep and smash them they drop the ball on the 10m line, and you have even more momentum or they finish a set on the 30 and under all sorts of pressure. You can keep momentum without the ball.

Interesting.

So let me get this right...

$650K is the cap for the supplementary cap.

510K must be spent on development contracts leaving $140K for T&T.

Players that earn less than 20K T&T are not counted towards the cap. So they can spend three months training with the team and it's essentially off the cap.

Victor good to go from rnd 6 next year.
3 tests plus 2 preseason games will count towards the 10 weeks.

Most amateur professional sporting body in the ****ing world, honestly. Just another example of blatant double standards. I hope the club complain, loudly.

It was a Roosters' suspension not the NRL, the Roosters can do it however they want.

The original Roosters press release in September says 10 games.

Didn't the NRL stay out of it pending the Roosters response.?

Well played Roosters I say.
10 weeks was always a bit much IMO.

So technically, the NRL could step in and say "oy ****ers, that isn't 10 ****ing weeks". I mean, they won't, but if they had any integrity they could and should.

Serves everybody right for trusting them when they first said they will sack anyone that does coke.
