2026 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

Yeah it definitely sounded that way. Was random he was basically speaking on behalf of all the guys coming off contract. Not ideal if you are penriff

Kinda curious to see what the stadium looks like for nrl game day over there. Will there be guards with assault rifles? I can see the ground being swamped by a violent crowd if a bad call goes against png. Which refs should be sent over there to ref the game? Klein? And will the bunker be established back here in Australia for such games? I can only imagine the security being at insane levels.

"Not one person I know and they are all NSW supporters and go for NSW based team say Walsh is overrated."

Righto 🙄
You only have to read social media comments to know that some punters will hate on Walsh no matter how good he plays etc.

My point was , you sound the same. Feel free to rebuttal.

Feel free to constructively/objectively tell me why you think he is a shit player? / over-rated?

I'm personally not his biggest fan naturally, being a Bronco/QLDER but his resume speaks for itself, and he played a significant enough part in 'most' of his participated team's achivements.

4 nrl premierships
world cup finalist
Nsw state of origin wins, and a crucial decider win at Suncorp (without Cleary from memory)

He's a danger in attack with the current 6-again rule.

And again; a real big factor in today's game is 'off the field'. Again, feel free to rebuttal that part as well.

Your nuance is that he is some B-tier five-eighth running around in our competition, which surely isn't the case.
I like how you assume I read social media to form my own opinions...
Probably says more about your opinions than mine.

Are you the professor from Matt j9hns show..?

Sorry if your comprehension is lacking...
Luai is overrated!

How about Yeo's interview?

Sounds like the boys from Penrith are lining up for their payday.

😁 Penriff would not be anywhere near top 8 if this is how PNG squad ends up being in 2028.

Luai is overrated!

I didn't say you use social media to form your opinion, I said you sound like someone on social media who just says "Walsh is a show pony, he sucks" ... sorry if your comprehension is lacking.

Still waiting for an actual argument about why Luai is 'overrated'.
Was open to that, since it's a rugby league forum.

i.e. Why you think Sexton is a better signing for the Bears than this signing?
(highly doubt you are the majority there, but would love to hear your case)
What is Luai's actual current tier then? Considering the 6's going around in the NRL?
i.e. I said he isn't S-tier, but A-tier... so you consider him B-tier? C-tier? who are in these tiers?

I had a look at some team lists this week, I personally don't see many outstanding 6's going around at the moment?

Sounds like you either want to trade stupid barbs or can't come up with an objective argument.

If you actually want to talk rugba leeg, all ears... otherwise... all G

You do you man.

Anecdotally, some people do hate Walsh because of tall poppy and the (perceived?) arrogance, same as we hate/d Penrith. Was wearing Broncos gear in the Blue Mountains late last year and struck up a conversation with the lady at the tour guide desk at Katoomba, big Panthers fan, telling me how she can't stand Walsh's arrogance. Which I thought was funny coming from a Panthers supporter but anyway.

Also got a legit "nice shirt!" compliment from a random in the Sydney CBD while wearing my Broncos jersey 😂 Made my day lol

Im pretty sure I heard that the tax implications will be calculated when determining their cap. The won’t actually be able to pay players more than the rest of the comp due to tax differences.

The same way the warriors cap
Isn’t different relative to Australian teams just because it’s in New Zealand dollars

Does that mean .
If fullback money in Australia is 1 million minus tax = 5 -6 hundred thousand in pocket .
Do Hunters just pay the straight 5- 6 hundred thousand ? No tax ?

If that`s the case why put yourself through the hardship . Or will 3rd parties make it worth while ?

Sometimes saying nothing is the best response lol. I had a similar interaction with a guy at the Ekka a few years back. He was in a Panthers Jersey and I was in my Broncos one so we started chatting. He didn't single out just Walsh, he basically called the whole squad arrogant with the way they carry on when they score etc. I just gave him a blank look and after a couple of seconds he nodded and just said "Yeah...righto, point taken" Decent guy for a Panthers fan tbh haha

Penrith skipper Isaah Yeo said:

“There’s a big long list of us off contract at the end of the year. For myself personally, I think you just have to be open minded,” Yeo said when asked if would consider the Chiefs as an option.

“I can’t tell you what the club (Penrith) wants to do and there are a lot of dominoes to fall.

“I think, come this time around I have to be really open minded in that regard and make a call then.

“In the meantime, it’s a matter of playing good footy and doing well for your club and putting them in a good position. Then things like that take care of themselves.

“That’s what I’m thinking anyway, there might be a few of the boys thinking like that as well, that there is going to be a time when we have to be open minded and that might be this November 1.”

“At the same time you have to think of your family. I have three young children now and this will probably be my last contract,” Yeo said.

“I can’t tell you what’s going to happen in the future.

“If you’re playing good footy you would like to think there are opportunities. One club would be nice but I have a better understanding as I’ve gotten older that it is a business, opportunities are never a bad thing.”

“I’m not sure what the club’s (Penrith) plans are to be fair. The first domino to fall, that would probably be Nath,” Yeo said.

“I guess off the back of that, we all just have to wait and see how it goes.

“I can’t see him in another jersey other than the Panthers … but it’s never a bad thing to see what’s out there and make a call with everything on the table.

“He’d love us all to play together forever but it’s exciting as to what it might look like in the future.

“It’s going to be an interesting off-season that’s for sure.”
