Exactly what I thought reading that lol. The entire point of the bunker is a detailed review, you know, like what they did for each of QLD's tries lastnight? Fine toothed comb, all available angles, etc etc.

The Bostock and Plath calls totally killed off any chance of a QLD comeback - which was on the cards, you could feel it brewing. Bostock there is simply no excuse. Plath may have been marginally the 'right' call but every kick chase every kick of every game of every weekend is at least that far offside and it's hardly EVER checked. The fact he really doesn't impact the play just adds salt.

But "that's just my opinion". Get ****ed. I'll take my opinion and do something else with my time. I'm already only watching literally 1/10 the NRL that I have been in previous years, and I continually get reminded in the very few games that I do watch, why.

@Nashy has called it. Can't attribute to malice what may be incompetence but the officiating in this 'sport' has gone far beyond that now. Game management, square ups, inconsistencies favouring certain teams constantly. Corrupt to the core.
 
Probably as flat as Queensland performance as I can remember. Things just never looked right. Walker sitting with his head in his hands in the sheds before the game was a massive red flag.

30 missed tackles in the first half, Blues 62% of the ball in the first 20 minutes.

It just snowballed; they needed points so had to use Walsh and Jeremiah- and they did create chances, but mistakes came from that too.

Qld played like they were up 2-0, not a decider. Something went wrong.
 
The "touch" was at such a crucial period of the match. We were getting back into it and starting to put things together. It was a great kick and we had a bit of momentum at that stage. We get another crack on the line at that stage, we looked pretty likely.

Anyway, it's all done and dusted now, and the bunker and Klein completely **** another game.

I still think just as important was the call just before half-time. I think we had 40 seconds on the clock, would have been 20 minutes out and were coming to get them. To get penalised for something that happens 40 times a game (putting the arm up to fend against a tackler) just reeked of the ref looking for an "out" to protect NSW's lead.

Unfortunately the no-try call on Plath's off-side was the correct call, I can't be mad at that.

Didn't watch, didnt miss it. Cracking up at yet another controversial decision in yet another round of NRL.

The game is a ****ing joke and a shadow of what it used to be.

Can't wait for Vlandys to drop dead or flee the country on tax/evasion/corruption so the game can go back to being enjoyable to watch.

It wasn't Butler, he was stood down in SYD cuz the Telstra problems were affecting the bunker. They moved to a local bunker in BNE,

"Chris Butler was stood down from his duties in Sydney with Gerard Sutton and Jared Maxwell stepping in as the video officials working out of a television truck outside the ground in Brisbane."

Ah rito. It definitely wasnt gerard sutton or jared maxwells voice though? I just watched the highlights i cant make out who it is talking. You are right. It definitely isnt Butler.

I think to some extent it's just lost its luster due to the length of time its been going. It's been an ongoing thing for 45 years. If you did the same thing for 45 years it would probably get long in the tooth as well. For those under 25-30 it's probably still exciting but for those that have been watching it for the last 30+, well, it just isn't as important. It's still fun to watch but it doesn't have the same appeal as it did when I was younger. I can remember plenty of shit ref decisions over the years so I don't think it's so much that.

That and the fact from March to July it's all WHO'S PLAYING STATE OF ORIGIN WILL THIS MISSED TACKLE CRUEL THEIR SELECTION. It's just oversaturation.

I know some people hate soccer but the WC never loses its appeal because it's every 4 years. It's such a long wait between tournaments that the anticipation builds for a couple of years.

I think I would be there now, very happy to turn off and not watch again, if I watched games on my own. But for me it's a family/social event with the kids and their partners coming over, we have a meal, watch the footy.
If not for that though, I'd be gone.
I also suspect that by the time March rolled around, I'd come back and see what's up.

Pretty much how I view it anyway. I still watch games on my own but it's a social thing, bit of fun, shit talk the players/dodgy calls/the ridiculous commentary with friends. I was a lot more into it when I was younger but shifting priorities/allocation of emotional energy. It's just another form of entertainment afterall.

Not a chance! That game just reinforced why i stopped watching league last year and this year until 3 or 4 games ago. Its just not enjoyable and its not in my blood like football is. I have to suffer football even with VAR i dont have the same attatchment to Rugby league.
 
Broncos watch from this game

Haas - 9/10. That was easily the best Payne performance in origin. That is the Payne we should get every week at the broncos. Offloads and occasional wide running. He dominated with every run.

Walsh - 7/10. Other than the fact he didn’t actually have an involvement in a moment, he definitely added some spark. Obviously was given the instructions to just run, was making some inroads and some 1/3rd chances.

Carrigan - 0/10 & 10/10. No missed tackles, no errors, was flawless. But at the same time failed to make any meaningful impact on the game.
