POST GAME 2026 State of Origin

Put on the Bloke in a Bar podcast they did post game and Reni and Blake start with 100% it had to be a send off . Beak hesitates for 3 seconds then goes along with them I only lasted that 2 minutes before switching it off, so no idea what shit followed.

This is on the back of the show blowing so much smoke up PVL’s arse in the previous show it makes your skin crawl.

They have to suck up to him mate or they get kicked out of the boys club and cut off.

I haven't watched since early last year. I love Origin, but I don't watch that anymore. I can't stand the way the rules and refs influence games anymore that they become no contests.

I still post and here though because I love it, and I hope you keep posting as well @Broncosgirl
Always xx :)

Been around so may forums, this one, easily, is THE standout. Soo many good people here, I'd be an idiot if I even tried to stay away from BHQ <3

I thought so too. His carries were massive and helped us avoid getting pinned in our own end. Genuinely surprised with how well he went under the high ball. But then, right when we needed to value possession, he tries to run around a player on the outside, near the sideline, in the rain. Vintage.
He played like the best winger in the comp. The kind of winger we all know he can be if he didn’t **** off during games

I've always liked Ponga but I feel like this was unforgivable from him as it pretty much cost us the game. Like obvious it's not a send off but his carelessness cost QLD the game. It's far worse than someone dropping the ball for example but not blamed as much. Hopefully Walsh improves his form and gets picked instead. I realise I've already said it last night but I still feel like that with a more clear head I guess.
Walsh almost certainly would have done a similar type of tackle to what Ponga did.

Bloke went so well that I reckon there has been an 'investment' if you get what I mean. Just blatant mouthpieces for the PVL agenda.

The NRL made a statement early '25 that one of the things they look at in acts of foul play is whether there's mitigating factors. If there are, the punishment is less. The NRL's own guidelines say it's not a send off.

Quite frankly the video you posted doesn't support your claim of full force with the shoulder to the head. It shows head on head first, which is why Ponga's ear was bleeding, and then shoulder on shoulder and if there is any contact with the shoulder to the head, it's not full force. It's shoulder onto head. That itself is an important factor because if it's shoulder onto head, that doesn't meet the criteria for a send off.

It also shows Koula's height level dropping, which is another very important factor.

The fact that Ponga is only receiving a fine is pretty telling, as well. That same tackle at club level hasn't even been a send off.

At worst, it's a sin bin. It's just not a send off.
The video shows clear shoulder to head first additionally Ponga can't say it was a tackle that went wrong as KP didn't try to wrap his arms it was a shoulder charge that is illegal even if he hits the head or not. If a kicker just gets slightly pushed by a defender even though it's not late or high still a penalty as no genuine attempt to make a tackle so If a slight Push gets a penalty a shoulder charge to the head at force is an obvious send off.

Billy will give him a chance to redeem himself I reckon. Problem is NSW will probably have Hass and Latrell back for game 2 - which will potentially make them a much tougher team then we played last night.

They just don’t care. They have absolutely trashed our game. It’s just dirty now.

It's really tough. A large part of my life was just loving the NRL season, waiting for the NRL season etc. I'd even allocate most of my social life around it so that I could catch the games, just loved rotting on the couch after a busy week and catching all the games. In some ways, neutral games were my favourite (avoiding the broncos stress), but now it's just background noise that frustrates me.

If I were in my 20s I wouldn't be watching anything other than the Broncos games. The only reason other games are on now is just to keep background silence away.

We're screwed until PVL is no more.

Yeah, Ponga went in way too hot that's for sure. Walker had him covered, and it looked like he dropped the ball a second before Ponga even hit him, so it was doubley over the top and not needed.

Its sort of just how those tackles happen when you have a smaller bloke coming from the side trying to stop a fast running bigger bloke. It's a tough tackle to get right and there is a fair bit of thought about self preservation.

Full force is Suaalii launching himself like a scud missile and leaving his feet. Ponga lowers his body position, slides in and braces hoping to knock Koula into touch.

Sin Bin? Sure.

Send Off. Absolutely not.
Ponga also full force launched his shoulder into his head . Ponga was very silly that play even if he hits Koula in the ribs still a penalty as it a shoulder charge but when he hits the head makes it a send off
