CRICKET 24/25 Queensland Bulls

Konstas is going to be a fun watch. Not sure which way his career heads but I am leaning towards it'll be decent.
Definitely backing him to succeed. Can't think of the last Australian 19yo batsmen to have the resume he's got at that age. Phil Hughes maybe? Watched a lot of his twin tons in the shield and he just batted like a regulation opener. Hopefully he gets the ability to get off strike so the risky hots are not needed as often.

Against WA in Sydney, he had to negate a period before stumps against Morris after WA had been out for 200 and he had to get the Blues to none down which he did then went on to make 88....and was out ramping Morris the next day.

Drove me mad.

He's quality and doesn't seem to get overawed. I'm so excited about Dixon too, those guys were the standouts in the under 19 campaign.

Good to see so many of those kids starting to get games too. Even in the bowling stakes, Vidler and Beardman both look amazing. Others too have had decent starts.

I think he might be very Maxwell or Roy- some days you will say wow and some days drive home shaking your head.
Yeah I can see that for sure. I think his bit of swagger is just what the DR ordered for Australian Cricket tbh. I still can't cop the reverse lap sweeps and what not though.

Yeah from the under 19 WC side 7 of them played state cricket in the last week. Plus Weibgen has a full state contract and Peake debuted in the BBL just after turning 18 and went on the Sri Lanka tour.

Bodes well for Aussie cricket, these kids seem genuinely strong prospects.

At the under 19 level, particulary the World Cup Dixon and Weibgen were the standouts with Olly Peake looking very assured at the crease. Konstas had a very mixed campaign - a century against the WI but some very soft dismissals getting bowled through the gate numerous times. Cricket is a game of skill, luck and opportunity - perhaps if the Vics had decided to put Dixon straight into the Shield team, maybe he would have scored a couple of centuries and been in the mix for the Test side by now.

On the bowling front Vidler is express and a wicket taker but looks like he will go for a few runs. Beardman is also very fast but doesn't look as quick as Vidler but he has more control of his action. Straker is not as quick as either but quick enough and seems more mature and looks to bowl with more control than both of them. I think this is why he has played 5 Shield games to Vidlers 1 and Beardmans 0. All three look to have serious potential being just 19.

Hopefully these young players continue to get opportunities at their states and continue to develop. Its exciting to see.

He looked vulnerable against the left armer swing bowler last week in the 50 over game .
2 or 3 inside edges that barely missed the stumps . Also bowled by a left arm spinner in BBL . He got his off stump knocked over in the Aus A game too
In swingers and off cutters are his Kryptonite ATM .
