CRICKET 24/25 Queensland Bulls

Uzzie not available for personal reasons and Bartlett going to India.
you mean opting to “rest” and head to the Melbourne Grand Prix rather than lining up with his Queensland teammates in a must-win Shield game ?

Target for Qld is 330 in 100 overs to secure the required bonus points needed to make the final should NSW lose to Tasmania and the Vics beat WA.

Unlikely but still an outside chance

Jimmy and Ness to bat this out with double centuries each please and thank you

Centuries for Jimmy and Jack.

Close enough I guess, just need to keep batting as long as possible and hold out for the draw tomorrow.

Great fighting knocks. Wildermuth has been excellent the last month.

Great innings from Pierson, Neser and Wildermuth to give Qld some hope when things looked dire at 5 for less than 100 yesterday.

Guess Wildermuth will keep his spot for the final if they make it now

This pitch is a road and Vidler has them squirming. He's such a talent man.

Vidler bowled with some extreme pace by the looks of it, would be great to see what speeds he is clocking. The SA opener genuinely looked like he backed away yesterday when he got out. He will be a gun if he can find some consistency as he develops and matures and is less expensive.

Wonder whether Vidler will play the final if they make it or they will bring back Straker. I thought they might play both young guys but that was before Jack Wildermuth scored his century yesterday. Straker looks like he swings the ball a lot more than Wildermuth and if the pitch is benign like this one, maybe some movement in the air would be a good thing?

Fingers crossed Neser resting in the second innings is just a precaution.

Vidler is lacking a bit in fitness I think but he's had a disrupted season, so not surprising I guess but yeah, he looks really quick. He had the SA batsmen running scared, he just couldn't maintain the intensity.

He's very close to high 140's consistently but can't play multiple games, that's his big issue at the moment. Two Shield games in 12 months- he's not injured just physically can't play long form cricket.

Thats quick - who else is bowling that fast in Australia now. Meredith, Morris and Vidler. Is there anyone else?

Hopefully a good pre-season for him to build his strength and fitness and he can string some back to back games together next seasonand develop some consistency.

Will Cricket Australia wrap him in as much cotton woll as Lance Morris. Poor bloke hardly ever strings two games together

Australia's fastest bowlers:
Starc
Vidler (it seems)
Morris
Meredith
Thornton (he can get it up there)
S.Johnson (on his day)
Stanlake
J.Richardson
Beardman

Do you think he will play for the Australian side soon?

Good question. He’s still very young but he’s had a really good season. Next year is the Ashes but after that, I think a number of batting spots in the XI will open up. If he backs this season up next, I could see him replacing Khawaja but he needs to back it up.
