OK, so there are a few people on here who wouldn't mind seeing both Hayne and Slater taken out on Sunday. So if this did happen and both leave the GF with long term injuries, who would take as the Australian Fullback for the 4 Nations Tour?

Kidley. He'd be the best out of that bunch. Stewart is in strife, otherwise I would have chosen him.

I'd vote Boyd. Yes, his form tapered along with the Dragons, but he was probably the most consistent fullback all year.

I think they'd definitely give it to Stewart though, with Patten his backup.

Boyd for sure, but I'd love to see Hunt have one last crack

Kemp his combination with Lockyer is awesome.

I voted for Gidley. Boyd wouldn't be a bad option either.

I voted Boyd, he's probably the best out of the lot.
Gidley is good but not really consistent at fullback and Stewart shouldn't even be considered until he is in the clear IMO. Kemp hasn't had a decent run of form to warrant consideration. Hunt shouldn't get a look in since he is leaving. Patten is ordinary as hell and I would only give Campbell a call up if we were desperate.

Voted for Hunt, because he is proven at test level

Gidley is a choker and a hack
Stewart is too busy trying to buy as much soap on a rope as he can afford
Boyd is behind Hunt, so would be my second choice
Patten is not a rep player
Campbell is too old
Boyd is too young

It was a toss up between Hunt and Stewart but in the end I chose Stewart.

Then again he might be too interested in his lady friends to worry about the match. (sorry, not good at jokes) [icon_lol1.

Seriously though he was Manlys best performer last season I thought, Hunt will get overlooked because his moving to AFL.

Patten hasn't proven at rep level and the others, well, lets just see what happens.

Has to be Gidley IMO.

If Hayne and Slater are both out Boyd would retain his position on the wing. Gidley would be the man to fill the #1 IMO because he's been there before and he is the incumbent NSW fullback. He's not as bad as everyone makes him out to be either.

I've never seen anything brilliant from Patten - not worthy IMO.
I still say Campbell is a rubbish fullback.
Stewart was nothing special after returning from injury. It probably wouldn't be fair to play him after he missed most of the year. Let's not forget that court case either.
Boyd would be on the wing and sod Hunt.

Kidley with Boyd as backup.

Stewart shouldn't be playing for Australia while he has a sexual assault charge waiting to be heard.

I voted Gidley with Boyd being my second pick from that lot.

Wouldn't Gidley be best served on the bench?
I reckon Luke Lewis would be a better bench option than Gidley.

OT - but since Greg Inglis has unresolved charges against him, should he be/ is he ineligible from Australian selection

It is important to consider that there is a presumption of innocence given to those who are criminally charged, however, personally, I don't want the international headline to read that a player charged with sexual assault without consent is chosen as our fullback - or a player facing assault charges for that matter - representative honours should be bestowed upon those who prove themselves as worthy of this honour

Before anyone jumps on my back regarding Alhambra - I am not expecting every player to be perfect, I know some players have erred, and this should not exclude them from rep footy for ever, however, those boys have spent (as far as I know) the last year keeping their noses clean (despite not being charged with anything)

It's a tough one. As far as I know as long as you are not in lock-up you are still entitled to work while you're case is still pending. Like if they are ruled ineligible because they have charges pending and then they are found innocent, they would certainly have a case to sue the ARL. I am not sure if having charges pending will affect a visa application at all. But yeah I get where you're coming from.
