now the GF is out of they way, whats peoples thinking on the 4 nations, i think the team should be (assuming Civo and Price are out injured):

01. Slater
02. Hayne
03. Inglis
04. Hodges
05. Folau
06. Lockyer
07. Thurston
08. Hannant
09. Smith
10. Bailey
11. Thaiday
12. Watmough
13. Stagg

14. Gidley
15. Taylor
16. Scott
17. Weyman

I'll have a crack at the NZ lineup from their train-on squad

1. Hohaia
2. Vatuvei
3. Inu
4. Matai
5. Locke
6. Roberts
7. Marshall
8. Moi Moi
9. Luke
10. Lima
11. Blair
12. Mannering
13. Smith

14. Manu
15. Rapira
16. Eastwood
17. Glenn

Couple of players who are probably too young to be there (Glenn and Locke), I just chose what I thought was the best team from the train on squad. Looks pretty good to me as well. Hopefully Moi Moi can play, I haven't heard anything more about his cracked ribs.

As for Australia, my team is pretty similar to Foordys but a few minor changes

1. Slater
2. Hayne
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. Folau
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. Hannant
9. Smith
10. Civo/Weyman
11. Thaiday
12. Creagh
13. Stagg

14. Weyman/Poore
15. Watmough
16. Taylor
17. Gidley

That bench is probably a bit heavy though.

Should be a good series.

Can't see Thaiday getting a start over Watmough tbh.

I can't see Stagg getting a starting spot either. He would be lucky to be in the 17 in fact. I think O'Donnell will get a look in and so will (much to my disgust) Glenn Stewart.

I doubt Stagg will make the touring squad.

You guys wanna pick your teams or just pick ours apart? lol

Ok, this is my team I did a couple of weeks ago copied from another forum.

1 Billy Slater. His form has picked up and he has to retain his spot.
2 Jarryd Hayne. Good bye Darius. Hayne is a better winger than Slater, so he only just misses out on custodian.
3 Greg Inglis. OMG. What a formiddable partnership!
4 Justin Hodges. Has to be there. MOTM last time he played for AUS, one of the ones who got the Broncos to the Prelim.
5 Israel Folau. Too good under the high ball. A specialist winger. Confidence player outside of Hodges.
6 Darren Lockyer. The king.
7 Jonathan Thurston. Really should be playing finals football.
8 Ben Hannant. In lieu of Price being injured. Was a standout for the dogs. The new Webcke imo.
9 Cameron Smith. Magnificent.
10 Petero Civoniceva. Is he over his injury yet?
11 Nathan Hindmarsh. Seriously. FFS.
12 Anthony Watmaugh. Douche. But good at footy.
13 O'Donnell/Stagg/Gallen/Watmaugh anyone BUT Glenn Stewart.

14 Kurt Gidley. He's versatile I suppose.
15 David Stagg. Give him a crack. Was good against the Eels. Lock of the year.
16 Sam Thaiday. One of the Bronco's best.
17 Michael Weyman. Best NSW forward. Wouldn't have him starting, but I liked his game against the Broncos, is going to be formiddable next year with the experience he has gained.

18 etc Ben Creagh / Luke O'Donnell / Paul Gallen / Dallas Johnson / Ashley Harrison / Luke Bailey

I don't want to see Justin Poore, Glenn Stewart or Josh Perry anywhere near the Aussie 17.

1. Slater
2. Hayne
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. Folau
6. Lockyer (c)
7. Thurston
8. Bailey
9. Smith
10. White (I hate him, but Civoniceva is unlikely to be fit, and he made the Grand Final, so he'll get a gig a la Josh Perry last year)
11. Watmough
12. Thaiday
13. Gallen

14. O'Donnell
15. Hannant
16. Poore
17. Gidley

That's what I reckon they'll pick.

1. Slater
2. Hayne
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. Folau
6. Lockyer (c)
7. Thurston
8. Poore
9. Smith
10. White
11. Watmough
12. O'Donnell
13. Gallen

14. Creagh
15. Hannant
16. Taylor
17. Gidley

pffft... thats not even the best backline in history.... wait.... it probably is

yeah 1-7 is pretty much set in stone.

Moimoi cleared to play. Hopefully his form continues.

Just seen this article - http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12196_5608928,00.html

The squad, captained by West Tigers stand-off Benji Marshall, has been heavily decimated by injury, with Roy Asotasi, Simon Mannering, Sam Rapira, Jerome Ropati, Zeb Taia, Taniela Tuiaki, Manu Vatuvei and Sika Manu all unavailable.

And apparently Jeremy Smith is out now too [icon_non FFS They always seem to get a pissload of injuries just before the internationals. So much for the tournament being somewhat competitive.

Kiwis squad:

http://leagueunlimited.com/article.php?newsid=18599

I'd go with:

1. Perrett
2. Locke/Goodwin
3. Sau/Matai
4. Inu
5. Nightengale
6. Marshall (c)
7. Fien
8. Blair
9. Luke
10. Moi Moi
11. Eastwood
12. Pritchard
13. Harrison

14. Hohaia
15. Lima
16. Nuuasala
17. Soliloa

Others: Sau/Matai, Goodwin/Locke, Foran, Leuleuai, Waera-Heargraves, Matulino

Very surprised there are no Saints in the team... thought creagh deserved a shot
