They have been kissing it since about 2008. Before hand though I certainly agree. Any opportunity they could they would make pot shots on Lockyer and whenever he played well it was usually just passed off as not being news worthy.

I loved it after we won the 2006 premiership some journos wanted to ask Wayne some questions on Lockyer and his reply was something to the effect of why? I thought you guys said he was useless?

Agreed - as a high schooler I always wondered why Locky didn't get the wraps from the Sydney media - thought I was watching a different game. They used to toot Joey's horn pretty hard.

Then they moved on to JT and so on. Post premiership though they've started wrapping him. At the end of the day - you realise CH 9 wraps different players to what commentators on radio do etc... everyone has a different opinion in league... some ridiculous... e.g. Paul Kent.

…can't play five-eighth, shouldn't be captain of Queensland – the list just goes on. Now you all want to applaud him. Thank God for him that he doesn't lose confidence and he is the champion he is.
