it's not like its another star player in their prime. i don't have a problem with players going over to ESL at the end of their careers for 1 last big payday
 
Steve Bell is an Origin player. He's a loss in my books.
 
Steve Bell WAS an origin player. He's at the end of his career now, if he'd gone over there a few years back I might have thought it was a loss, but not anymore. It's the blokes in the peak of their careers going over there that are a loss imo.
 
He's been injured all year. Who's to say he wouldnt have been selected over Boyd if he had been fit all year?
 
Boyd was only selected because Hodges was out, so he still would have only been second choice if that. As Rock said, it's players like Inglis, Folau etc that the game can't afford to lose.

If he played for the Broncos, you would say he was another mediocre player, and somehow blame Wayne Bennett for even keeping him in first grade, but because he played for another club, he's one of the best traffic runners you've ever seen? [icon_lol1.
 
I am not overly fussed on seeing Steve go to be honest. He has been pretty good for Qld in origin and he was super for the Storm when he was there but he hasnt got that 'flair' that the likes of Gasnier, Inglis, Falou and company have.

I agree with Coxy, been very good but he missed that something special to make him a great player!

Got no problem with players going to England for one last pay day either.
 
Bell's only dangerous with ball in hands cos he never passes the fricken thing.
 
Bell is just a winger who thinks he is a centre, when he is far from it. Bell is a crappier version of Tate. No big loss.
