Apparently he put himself on an 'exclusion register' but that's about as useful as catching rain with a landing net.
 
What are the chances that, majority of people think that Klein (And a few other refs) rig games... which coincides with "ruck infringement ruling" and the 50% increase of infringement calls in general THIS YEAR.

Then turns out he is a gambling addict.

Like, sure, he is on the self exclusion register in AUSTRALIA. With Australian betting companies. But that doesn't mean he can't use sites like betinasia, pinnacle, etc. outside of Australia. That hold the money in an offshore account and can actually withdraw the money in crypto, becoming undetectable if you convert it to cash through certain channels.

Regardless, there is more risk to him refereeing a game than not.

And for NRL to know this for 7 years is kind of ****ed.
 
No its all good, he just gambles on horses and there is no link whatsoever between horses and the NRL...none...what...so...ever...

What do we reckon the NRL would have said 7 years ago if it was a top level rep player that had the gambling debt/addiction?

Since its apparently not clear, I mean if they had a debt/loss the level of Klein. Not usual casual betting that probably 90% of players do.

Most of them do don’t they? Didn’t we lose a final and our guys were on the pokies til midnight the night before?
 
A 400k debt. They’re saying that as if it was a few dollars and a little mishap in his life. Thats one hell of a debt that will carry on forever. You mean to tell me he never tried to get some of that money back while officiating NRL?

Do they think we’re stupid? Don’t piss on me and tell me it’s raining!
 
As much as this doesn't feed into the grand conspiracy about the NRL rigging the system against the Broncos (perhaps they just forgot last year), if the dude had issues good on him coming clean and getting help. If they can prove he bet on NRL games, ban him for life.
If not, leave the dude alone.

Oh im sure lots of them bet, just whether its to the tune of a 400k loss in a year I guess

No mate. They did an investigation and found that he was betting on games so they continued to let him referee and even put him on State of Origin games.... I think thats more the logical conclusion
