Frank voted 'Yes, definetly'. theres absolutely no doubt we get more correct decisions thanks to the video ref.

if the NRL was just about entertainment they wouldnt keep score in matches, and noone would lose.

We may get more correct decisions but the problem is the stupid refs are relying on the video ref more then what they should. Plus it is slowing the game down heaps!! Just loosing all momentum.

Why can't they just have the main ref able to "replay" something on the big screen once or twice and then he can make his decision from that.

Kerrod Walters. Bounced ball. Graeme West.

Nuff said.

I recall that one vividly - I attended a match between Manly and Norths at Brookvale the following week and the Sea Eagles mascot was doing demonstrations on how to ground a ball by spiking it gridiron style!

But less entertaining surely when the referee CONSTANTLY goes to the referee.
not to Frank. whats a minute or 2 of stopped play to get the correct decision?[/quote:def7soxs]

1 - 2 minutes where the game could swing from the team in motion. Gives the forwards a rest, gives the team time to have a chat about what their doing, and kills everyones momentum.

FTR, I voted Yes, definatly, however I don't understand the point. The referees were copping it left, right and centre for incorrect desicions prior to the introduction of the video ref, and now that the video ref is in play, referees are still copping it left, right, and center. FFS, people are throwing things at referees as they are walking off the field.

It is true that we are getting more decisions correct, but it's dramatically slowing down the game. I could cook a roast dinner before Russell Smith makes a decision. In addition to this, I think this crap about reffering to the video ref to determine whether a ball has been lost, or stripped is pathetic. I'm all for the video ref being a part of the game, but I think they should only be able to be refferred to for things like grounding, sidelines and offside. These are easy to determine, and should speed the game up a bit. However, this also means that more emphasis is placed on referees, and at the moment I don't believe they are up to the standard. They all need to go back to refereeing school and re learn the rules of the game.

Maybe someone should invent some kind of super-glasses for referees to wear. haha

Exactly!! The video ref was introduced because of the outcries from fans and coaches/ players alike!

Now, people want to scrap it?

The video ref isn't the problem, how its used and referees in general are.

I think the most urgent address should be to the quality of touch judges, who seem to do nothing at all anymore>
