I think it is important than unless we are desperate due to injuries, Mam must be made to come back through Q Cup. He needs to earn his shot again, it must not be handed to him on a platter.

Madge has already said he'll bring Ezra back through Qcup.

If the Reynolds/Hunt combination is working well does Mam come back into the halves? He and Hunt are very different players, going from a player maker who provides another kicking option to a runner would be a big change to a team that's hopefully doing well. Especially with Mam coming off a wash of a year.

If the Hunt/Reynolds combo is working well and we're winning, then I predict Madge will take the opportunity to force Ezra to earn his way back into the team via the QLD cup ... All bets are off if we're losing when Mam becomes available to play.

However, I also expect us to be back to the Mam/Reynolds halves combo, with Hunt at Hooker (Mozer on bench) before then end of the year, because ultimately that is our strongest set-up

I'm expecting to see Ben barking plenty of orders and be one of the main leaders of this squad with Reynolds. His experience is exactly what we need. Outside of injuries I think it will show Mam that he can be replaced. Either put in or there's the door mate.

It's time to be a serious club week in week out during the season and that's what I want for this club. It's not a big ask. Do that and success won't be far away for this squad.

Yes, that should be the case. Also the way he looked from the few snaps during his court date, he looks more rounded up. Perhaps the stress due his deeds made him gain weight but he’s no where near fit. It’s best if he’s brought in by letting him earn his spot.

If and when Reynolds gets injured, you don't even need to throw a bone to Mam, it would allow us to go straight to Black and allow him to get some games in. If Reynolds did get injured at some point, I would be keen for this scenario to play out. Problem is, I'm not sure if our club has the balls to leave so much of our cap (Ezra) as a back-up half - especially if we're not doing so well.

Bennett and Bellamy would do it though. Hopefully Madge is of the same mold (and is not swayed by the front office or the media).

Irrespective of when Ezra earns/get his spot, the vitriol he gets would be immense especially from agendas driven salty dumb ***** in media & other attention seeking fuckheads.
Agree that we’re heavily invested in him but I reckon, the onus falls on to our club and the coaching staff to make sure he’s looked after and he’s solely focused on his job.
Also, DD should draw a line in the sand at least internally that mandates professional behaviour from everyone and no tolerance/lenience will be given from now on.

Unless it's in Origin period or the back half of the year I suspect Black is off limits for now, in that scenario they would probably revert to Hunt and Rogers/Billy.

atleast we should see alot more of him this year in the Trials though, I suspect he will play most if not all of the games this time.

Given the amount of off-field drama we've had over the last few years, you would think that "line in the sand" would have been drawn a while ago...

He’s a dick for the mistake now move on. It surely will happen, Hunt is normally a right side Half and Reyno since he joined us has been good roaming too so it should make sense.
