Ben Hunt's future is uncertain now

Yeah he struggled last night but no one has as much passion for the jumper as him. He hung around for four years for that opportunity in the 7 because he loves the club. He has taken less to stay when he could have earned more elsewhere. He is a guy the fans would not have any trouble getting behind as the face of the club moving forward.
 
What about that Test Match Lockyer stunk it up in. Maybe he should have retired after that?
 
Poor Hunt, I feel even worse for him today. I hope he's getting the support he needs. If a few of us were pissed at his mistakes, I can't imagine how he'd feel. He's one of the most competitive players in the game, and loves the club as much as anyone.

The more I think about it, the more I think he has all the qualities to make his failure in the GF be a turning point for his career.

I don't know if he can be more determined, but I think he will be. Bennett won't let this bring him down.

I also fully support him getting the captaincy next year, there seriously isn't a better and more passionate player at the club. Parker's had his time, Thaiday doesn't deserve it.
 
My wife shared this on facebook in support of Hunt. She is a diehard Cowboys fan... it's a Roosevelt quote. Very appropriate here.

Please close this thread, not only is Hunt's future not uncertain, he is our only option.
 
He'll be fine.

These sort of things are character building, he'll learn from it and become a better player no doubt.
 
People have overcome things far worse then this. At the end of the day it is a game of football not life and death. He is earning great money and playing the game he loves, I doubt it will hurt him badly.
 
Ben Hunt's future is FAR from uncertain.

I'll tell you what's certain - his career at the Broncos, he will be a future leader if not captain, & lead us to greater success.

He will learn from this.

He is an amazingly talented HB with all the tools to become a future immortal. He must work on his mental game to fine tune his edge in big games such as a Grand Final, and who better to mentor him than Wayne.

Our club has a bright future.

The Cowboys were not better than us, & they did not beat us. We beat ourselves.
 
The only thing uncertain about his future is if he is captain next year, or after Parker moves on.
 
Hunt seemed upbeat and positive when he gave a few words to channel 10. I think we'll all be ok next season
 
Another thing that is certain is that three Bronco defenders missed tackles on the try on the last play. Did Hunt play his best, no but have a look at the last play knowing that if tackles by Blair and McCoullough stick on Thurston or if Milf brings down Morgan and or Reed/ Oates, stays home this is a non topic. Win as a team or lose as a team.
 
Every Cowboy fans first comments in the Sydney bars I frequented last night was how gutted they felt for Hunt. I for one will not be pointing the finger at him as he along with the rest of the team gave their all last night.
 
I am tipping that he or Milford will win the Dally M next year. Hunt will be better for this and dominate next season.
 
Halfbacks and 5/8s aren't called on to field general play kicks, so why then are they required to catch off kick offs?
With the way players like Feldt, Richards etc can roost a ball, wouldn't it be smarter to have your specialist catchers (wingers/fullback) in position to field the kick offs?

Food for thought, but why is it that kick off positions are never really considered, and halves are generally accepted to be the right people to catch? Will the GF blunder from Hunt see a rethink on which player stands where off a kick off?

It's probably why it's rare that kick-offs get punted in to the corners. That's where the specialty catchers are. Better for the ball-distributors to get a first touch so they can distribute the ball where it needs to go. Whether that's to the props or to spread it.

But I don't think it should be taken seriously. Walters has come out and said that he vows to help Ben Hunt get over it.
