Look, i know last season a fair few people said he was a complete gronk who talks complete naff, but i myself didn't think that. I thought he was an alright commentator.

Well i was wrong. Perhaps is just me, but tonight he was talking pure shite. The complete crap that came out of his mouth with every sentence was unbelieable. He waffles on about absolute tripe.

Ikin just sends out a load of fluff. Never really bothered me before, but tonight he was getting under my skin.

Benny has always been moderately irritating to listen to, but as others have said he's not quite in the same class of commentary douche as Augustus and the Johns hacks.

However, when he starts to carry on he can talk the most utter crap imaginable - sounding like a fan boy who just rolls out the cliches. You know he's in full flight when he's using his favourite "lateral shift" line. Does have his good moments though but in my opinion they're generally sparse.

The solution to the problem, although not a really productive one, would be to sit Mr. Kev Walters in the box to call a game alongside Benny (didn't they do that once in Canberra when Vossy got the trots mid-game? Or was that Dell?). He can make any caller look a million bucks.

Hell, i'd even listen to a full 5 days coverage of Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe covered exclusively by Ian and Greg Chappell over 80 minutes of Kevvy.

I think it might have been Geyer? That was one of the most entertaining halves of football I've ever seen/heard [icon_lol1.

I agree that Ikin does waffle on a bit and can seem to get a bit lost in an endless string of cliches and mixed metaphors. I find it kind of funny when I'm in a good mood (Broncos winning) but definitely irritating when I'm in a bad mood (Broncos losing).

Phil Gould can be annoying but he knows his stuff. Matt Johns acts like a twat sometime but when he talks seriously, he provides some good insight.

Ikin's just a fool really, never liked him.

I haven't really heard him commentating on matches too often as I am usually at the Broncos games he is calling, but I have always found Ikin to be one of the more knowledgeable and better of the guys on the Sunday Footy Show.

Ikin makes sure he mentions that someone else besides Lockyer is the best player in the world, last week he said it about Thurston and this week he mentioned Slater.
