The girl still got hit in the face so not a non-story. However Eat shit to Nine who put on an advert, "tomorrow night an exclusive story that will rock Rugby League" as if they are trying to bring the game down.....the game they broadcast. baffling.

They can certainly get scary when representing sports stars who’re backed into a corner … about four years ago when I was reporting, I was literally seconds away from going live with a story about a very high profile Australian basketballer racially abusing a fan during an NBL match … had mobile phone footage & audio of the incident and a very angry interview with the basketballer ready to roll then at the last minute the story was pulled because the fan suddenly withdrew consent for us to air the footage and a fax came through from the player’s solicitors saying the fan had offered a formal apology to the player.

I think the whole thing is BS. If you get hit and the police investigate then you withdraw the allegation, ( which I didn't think possible in Aus I've always

thought once a complaint is made only the police can decide where it goes from there) then you shouldn't be able to go on TV to tell your story.

Love to know if she is getting paid. I can't see how that is not defamation.

If I was Teo I would be all up in her grill along with ch 9 defending myself.

Of course you can withdraw an allegation.

Doubt she was paid, it was only Danny Weidler who interviewed her.

Kaz, some would say it's smart to leave, you insinuated he was a coward and he had nothing to do with anything.

Maybe Browny can answer my question, but I have always been under the assumption that if a complaint is made to police and it involves a criminal matter then you can't just change your mind, an investigation has to take place then the police decide if things can / should proceed.

It was said on 2GB earlier today that the phone call was made from his phone but Te'o is believed to have made the call.
