“BRONCOS HOST PLAYERS ONLY MEETING!! 👀👀

Adam Reynolds has spoken of his shock, revealing Broncos stars held a players-only meeting following Ben Te’o’s bombshell exit, and when he found out about the assistant’s exit plan.”

Dave Donaghy has responded to why Te'o was not permitted to join QLD as an assistant

“It was a decision made by us as a club, not ‘Madge’ (Maguire),”

“We are very supportive of both rep and international football.

“We think it’s a really important part of our game and there’s opportunities across the course of the year where players have a wonderful experience and some staff are able to have a similar experience as well.

“I’ve seen many people go into State of Origin camps and grow from that.

“The challenge when you are an NRL club, as the primary employer, is you still have staff required to perform their roles at the club.

“You need to strike a balance.

“We have been really supportive of our people when they have approached us about rep opportunities. But we also need to be conscious that we overcommit our program to other people’s teams.”

“There’s always different opportunities that arise for different staff, but we weren’t able to approve that for Ben in this instance,”

“In terms of Queensland, we have Matt Ballin, Matt Barradine (trainer) and Pat Kenny (high performance, who helped the Maroons last year), so the Broncos are already making a significant contribution to their team.

“Having one assistant coach from our club helping Queensland is plentiful given there are 17 NRL teams to support two state teams.

“We want to be a development club. We want our players to go from our academy program to our NRL program.

“With our premiership team, 14 of the 17 players were graduates from the Broncos Academy and we are the same with our staff.

“We are super supportive. But our members and fans wouldn’t want to see us risking our NRL performance because there are still two points on offer in NRL games through the Origin period.”
How ridiolcous that he even has to explain. It’s common sense

So he's basically thrown the toys out of the cot and will end up with old man Wayne who lets his senior players not train and, I assume, his assistants do whatever the hell they want (which is probably part of the reason why he hasn't won a comp in nearly 20 years)?

Very interesting triplemmm journo podcast today, where it was ‘revealed’ that that Charlie White knob is apparently a friend of Ben Te’o…

Anyone familiar with him on various podcasts, be that the one with that pommie dumbarse or any other triplmmm show, would know how hard he, and those shows, have been pushing the Madge narrative all year.

It’s not a big leap to imagine that Te’o could have been the source of the “rumblings” out of the club all year. The journo podcast today certainly left that impression.

Drought Breaker McGuire... First of his name. Long be his reign.

10 freekin years to get a win in Melbourne. 19 for a premiership. New Zealand trophy, 43 year drough for souths. 12 for Wigan.

While we're piling on Teo. Why aren't we coached to do smart stuff like Penrith and intentionally give away 1st tackle set restarts?

I really don’t know about this, just seems to be a yet another smoke signal that something just isn’t right. From:

-rumours of discontent last year
-Walsh praising Kevie during his GF speech more than Madge
- the rumours about discontent over the summer
- Payne leaving abruptly
- Patty talking about PNG
- the constant attitude problems this team seems to have
- teo walking
-players only meeting about teo leaving which is something not in their control unless they are unified?

I’m not against Madge at all but just seems a lot of little things. What hasn’t helped Madge is the media who dead set out for him to fail.

When it comes to Te’o the point that our defence hasn’t been good is a warranted observation but to counter that is why has the club been so keen to keep him? Why did Billy want him? Why are all these others clubs lining up for him? They all see something in him
