I've always liked Benji, but he has seemed a lot up himself recently. Added to that he hasn't been in great form. Will be interesting if he gets picked for NZ in Rugby League World Cup.

I honestly don't see why Benji is talked up as much as he is. He has the ability to break a game open, but very rarely does he use the ability. He's pretty hit and miss, and seriously over rated.

Paul Kent is giving it to Benji on FoxSports, saying he's only after money.

Apparently Benji had an 'agreement' with previous Tigers CEO that he'd get $1million per season when the salary cap was increased.

Current management don't believe he's worth that and have told him so.

Playing for a team incapable of winning a premiership in the next 5 years (the twilight of his career) would be a pretty good incentive to do a SBW or go see the world (Japanese or French Rugby) and earn massive dollars in a second grade competition.

Agree he is too bulked up but also unfit. Possibly a sign he has lost interest where he is or too comfortable. I can't see a reason why he couldn't regain most of his speed he has only just turned 28 after all.

Maybe all he needs is a change.

The whole thing is ridiculous, the guy has two years left on his contract and on the basis of a handshake deal demands $1m because of the cap increase, why wasn't such a condition put in his contract in the first place? Tauber has the nerve to blame the NRL for not doing anything to keep him, maybe Tauber should have got it in his contract. His form doesn't justify what hes currently on and the West Tigers were incredibly generous to offer him an upgrade at all. This all stems back to when he was lobbying the NRL and the tigers for him to be allowed to play Japanese Rugby in the off-season, maybe if Benji spent a little more time concentrating on his football and less time on his wallet he would be in a position to justify more money. His commitment to the West Tigers has been questionable at best.
