Bennett appearance today

Tbh, i dont think a coach should ever bag out one of his players, especially after he has JUST left the team. I can bag out who i want, i dont f***ing coach them, what is with u ppl lol!

Weren't you pretty vocal in your bagging of Bennett for saying positive things about the team after losses? So what is it? Do you want him to be positive or negative about his players?

Geez you're inconsistent...you could pass for Billy Slater! :P

But it's a serious (and good) question.

Fair enough, yourself and some others bag people for "blindly" following and supporting the club, while still just as blindly (IMO) criticising, even when the hypocrisy is really obvious.

Also FTR - Wayne DIDN'T bag Alfie. One of my best mates was at that lunch and what WB actually said was that Alfie is the type of person who really likes to be liked by other people, which makes it all the more difficult to be a great leader. Which is 100% true. Once again some douchebag journalist put his own interpretation on what was said for the sake of a headline.

And as far as criticism, if WB wanted to dish it out - he'd be one of the few people in the position to do it. Very few people would know these guys as well as WB does, in fact in pure football terms, no-one knows them better.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you idiot.

"Ok boys we lost by 50, but you all played really well. Keep doing what you've been doing and we'll get the same result every week and I'll be extremely proud"

dude you need to read the book, he doesn't bag Langer at all  I'm glad you believe the Courier Mail so avidly though, good to see.

Exactly. It was quotes misinterpreted at a lunch. He said something like Alf is a bloke that plays the clown because he likes to be liked by everyone, and Bennett was saying that sometimes leaders can't be liked by everyone. He wasn't therefore saying Alfie was a bad leader, but perhaps implying that to be a head coach or a leader outside a team environment where actions are as much leadership as anything, he would need to compromise that desire to be liked by all.

Of course, Courier Mail just turns around and says "Bennett says Alf shithouse leader"

"Wayne Bennet hates Allan Langer" was another good headline I saw.

Bennett is appearing at Borders Garden City tonight at 7 if anyone is interested in getting a signed copy of his book.

Hahahahaha you're a raging dumbarse!! Maybe read the articles closely next time and you'll notice that there was nothing actually quoted from what Wayne said.

You'd be blowing up if Wayne came out and said that Stuart Kelly was a good player.

I blew up when he continually selected Stu Kelly.....and Brad Meyers, Dane Carlaw and Scott Minto.

Mate I am a massive Wayne fan and even I shook my head a few times at this.

Just pointing out Queenslander's foolishness [icon_wink

I think that was one of the most 'WB's frustrating moments' post-2000 premiership. That and the persistence of Berrigan at 7. (Is the former explained in the new book? I know there wasn't too much of a choice on the latter)

(I've got the book, but taking it slow)

ahh the number of times i got banned coz of stu kelly lol

Do you remember the poll I ran on the old forum 'Who is the worst player to play for the Broncos?' Kelly, Meyers or Minto [icon_lol1.
