I think Minichiello would have been exposed for a nuffy even if he didn't get injured. It's not like he injured his terrible hands either. We didn't have a lot of good fullbacks in 04 and 05, maybe it made him seem better than he actually was.

From what I remember Minichello was a really good fullback before his injuries. I remember how good he was at kick returns almost always beating the first tackle.

Yeah he was kick ass. Then again, but for Brett Stewart's fall from grace after 2008 and Qld's dominance in State of Origin he too may have found his way into the Australian side (and probably on form kept Mini out?)
