BHQ Gambling Association

This is the system @Harry Sack.
Not sure it's as relevant as it once was because of overseas horses but FWIW here it is.

Rule 1 List any Cup acceptor placed in either the Caulfield Cup & Mackinnon Stakes (latter now irrelevant)

Rule 2 List any Cup acceptor placed 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup

Rule 3 List any acceptor who was placed 1-2-3 in the Melbourne Cup at their last cup run

Rule 4 List the Archer Stakes winner (now run earlier in the carnival)

Rule 5 Delete any horse whose last run in the Melbourne Cup was an unplaced run

Rule 6 Delete any horse who is aged 3yo or 7yo or older.

Alright degens I got 200k of house renos to pay for, who's winning the cup.

I thought Scheelite would run a good race with Froggy on board, 4.80 into 3.50.

Shapes up to be right in the finish in the Mornington Peninsula Cup.

Oh, were you meaning the Melbourne Cup? My mistake.

It's a shit show this year.
More unknowns than usual with the overseas horses.
All Oz form is from races run so slowly (13.5 secs per 100 mtrs) you wouldn't know if it stacks up.
The Caulfield cup winner is the stand-up for mine from exposed form in Australia.
Any Japanese horse has to be a shout, they have an amazing strike rate top 3.
Half Yours and Valiant King look the most likely but Buckaroo has been so good this prep. He won't like the predicted rain though.

I haven't picked a cup winner since 2012 with Green Moon, but I'll keep ****ing trying.

Going with Presage Nocturne

Good pick, have had it on my mind since it's late Caulfield Cup run. Looks like it will be awesome at 3200.

But I can't go past Al Riffa. Seems to be the best horse in the race. Is the top weight, but has won with 62 and will have 59 tomorrow.

I'll have a little something on Torranzino.

My mind has been elsewhere, so I didn't even remember the race was on today until about 10 minutes before the jump.

Remembered reading your post and chucked $4.00 on this bad boy. Then I did about 30 seconds of research, and chucked a tiny amount on Absurde, Flatten The Curve and Goodie Two Shoes.

Nearly got the goods!

Anyway, you owe me $4.00, thanks m8.

It was a very good win by Half Yours. Probably the first horse in a while that you genuinely think could go back to back.

I don't think we'll ever see a horse go back to back to back ever again, not under handicap conditions.

He's been a revelation, winning a benchmark 64 at Seymour back in April to now winning the Melbourne Cup.

Agreed 3 in a row looks impossible but 2 in a row a real chance for a 5 year old horse if he stays fit. He seemed to do that pretty easy and shoudl only get better.

Weight will bring him back to them next year. Sadly that's how it goes with handicaps.
