Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

I've gone Hoffman first try and Mel by 12.....fingers crossed

Yeah, I've got a feeling the FTS is going to be Hoffman or Proctor.

No real FTS thoughts and a no bet game for me. Proctor a good call though.

Hate the most conversions bet and wouldn't touch it myself.

Anyone interested in a footy tipping style spring carnival tipping comp? then click on the link below. I have been involved for a number of years and it's a good bit of fun. $50 covers the entire 5 weeks and all money is returned in prizes. Anyway it's all explained on the webpage.First prize is usually over 2k

Just as a general interest question to all, what's your go to bet?

Do you throw money on a race of some sort or a sport? For me, it's tennis. I seem to do better with that than anything else I put money on.
NRL player statistics betting (tackles and metres over/under) is pretty much the only thing I touch nowadays. Everything else (other than American election bets) I don't feel confident I have an edge. Unfortunately with the the NRL changing stats providers to a less reliable company the bookmakers stopped offering stats bets this year after an embarrassing round 1 but they're back for the finals and seem to still be the low hanging fruit I remember.

Got a strange feeling that Manly will get up in this game. Thinking I'll put money on Lafai to score at any time too.

I had to work yesterday so I didn't put any bets on (late mail can be a killer with positional changes). Next week I'll probably be looking at Penrith props/hookers and locks to make more tackles as the Bulldogs typically make a lot more runs up the middle than the Roosters.

I like the quinellas of:
selwood/kennedy
selwood/franklin

franklin missing a couple might cruel him but could be a smokie. Good odds for the second one.

dont think ablett will be there, missed to many at the end but leading up to was killing it so who knows

good luck

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

UCI World Road Race this weekend. Gerrans is the favourite but I can't touch him at the price. A lot of strong favourites though which makes for some talented riders at longer odds. Two that are in good form that like to attack are Luis Leon Sanchez (201) and Alessandro Di Marchi (301). Took both with Bet365. Unlikely of course but very attractive for the odds.

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

Centrebet and Sportsbet have a big variance in the over/under for SBW's tackles this week (33.5 vs 26.5). I took the under and over option respectively giving myself a 7 tackle range where I win both bets. Outside that range I lose 6.5% of my total stakes, inside and I gain 87%, which is the equivalent of 1 bookmaker offering odds of $14.38 for SBW to make between 26.5 and 33.5 tackles - not a guaranteed winner but it's sure as hell a good value bet. George Burgess has a decent range as well, between 26.5 and 31.5 tackles, just don't mix up your Burgesses if placing a bet.

Edit: Tom Waterhouse and Centrebet offer the same odds as one another on this stuff.

I'll be looking into that one for sure. Cheers

Outside of specials, Tom Waterhouse, Centrebet and Sportingbet will always offer the same odds as they are all owned by the William Hill group and share the same odds.

Betstar, Bookmaker and Ladbrokes are the same. They are all part of the Ladbrokes group and share same odds.

Sportsbet is owned by Paddy Power. They used to share odds with IASbet but they were migrated across. For the life of me can't understand how anyone can bet with Sportsbet, think I can't get more than $5 on a match odds bet.

Re: BHQ Gambling Association - DO NOT LINK TO BETTING WEBSITES

No problems! One more, Luxbet is part of the NSW TAB group. I know they don't share odds though, which is good. Odds in Australia for the bookies actually seem less competitive than ever since the UK firms took over and sites like Lasseters went away.

One site to look out for will beteasy. I believe they have taken over the customer list from Betezy, who have a very poor reputation, but my understanding is that its a completely different ownership team led by Matthew Tripp, who owned Sportsbet before selling to Paddy Power. Sportsbet were excellent back in those days.

Sportsbet used to have a much bigger range of stats markets. I prefer to make dozens of smaller bets rather than fewer large ones so I never really noticed any bet restrictions except for when I maxed out at $500 on the New York mayoral election. That being said I didn't really deliberately choose Sportsbet, I just won a freebet through their fantasy comp a few years back.
