Yeah I get it, that being said I thought his ball playing was great. That try assist was all classHe had a mega stint but it wasn't showy in a game full of it, he is definitely close to the top 3 for me though.
he did great when he did ball play but it does seem like him being moved to prop has rained in his opportunities atleast from this game to do it, though one could say last year it was overboard and it should only open up more once we are on the front foot like what we did in '23.Yeah I get it, that being said I thought his ball playing was great. That try assist was all class
Really shocked how few are picking Carrigan - everyone’s entitled to their opinion but 25 runs, 246 metres, 92 post contact, 3 offloads, 21 tackles, and a try assist.
Haas was more noticeable, and probably outplayed him but Patty was unbelievable
Different styles of player in some ways.Patty is just a workhorse. It kind of annoys me how the commentary team always goes on about how big Paynes engine is when Patty easily matches him in that department ( just look at how long he has been playing the last few years and the work he gets through, its incredible ) and he isnt the freak athlete Payno is.
Payne is always going to attract more attention because he's just a freak because of what he can do being the size he is, but i still dont think he offers us any more that Patty, he just brings different things to the table. Having both of them, on top of our bench rotation gives us the best, most well balanced pack in the comp. I think we have enough now even if one has an off day the others can pick up the slack.

2 of the best middles in the comp, without question. It’s a subjective argument but I think Haas more levels left in him than Patty - which is a testament to Patty’s application but also a reflection of how freakish Payne is.
Yep, that’s exactly what I referring too.I dont think Payne has much more improvement in his general play tbh. I dont think his ball playing will get much better than it is now for example and i think his level of performance is consistently good.
I think the levels Payne can go up in his game now are down to his aggression and using his physicality. Thats something i've always think he has lacked for a bloke his size. I have always thought he lacks that compared to the very best.
