Ah yeah true. Definitely was close enough to take with 2 hands.first half, cut out pass from Arey he attempted to catch it one handed and dropped it.

He made a heap of meters because he is a selfish player who doesn't pass the ball. When he made them linebreaks he should look for support from his team. Herbie never looks for a pass or possibly the little grubber in behind like we see from nearly every other back in the NRL. The meters are all well and good but meters on paper is no where near as good as points on the board.Don't understand the Herbie hate tonight. Other than the sin bin I can't think of anything he did wrong. Also made a thousand metres while the rest of the team went backwards.
He’s just a kidHe was also out of position a few times in attack and defence
Just about being in objective and fair in assessing players. Doesn’t have to be all negative or positiveHe’s just a kid
Is he able to play juniors? He’s just a kid
You’d love what I have to say about him then. Usually it’s pretty positive, just had to point out some flaws for a few weeks while others were hyping him up for his hit ups but forgetting everything else he did.Just about being in objective and fair in assessing players. Won’t get any arguments from me that he has plenty to work onYou’d love what I have to say about him then. Usually it’s pretty positive, just had to point out some flaws for a few weeks while others were hyping him up for his hit ups but forgetting everything else he did.
Also last night on his kick returns he often decided to turn into their forwards instead of the back or half standing in front of him

Not sure why so many people thought Herbie had a bad game tonight. Admittedly I watched it live from the ground, and won't torture myself by watching the replay. But he was a constant threat all night (it also looked like a complete BS sin bin)
3 - Reyno
2 - Herbie
1 - Billy, because at least while he was on the floodgates remained close

Graham's first try was off a grubber, the second he ran straight through Madden and Capewell, not Herbie, and the third he wasn't even on the field for. The dropped kick was unfortunate, but it's an absolute lottery when the opposition are allowed to jump into you with no intention of catching the ball.Herbie is normally great but in this game, he:
- Got sent to the bin for a ridiculous trip
- Dropped a ball that led directly to a Souths try
- Got SMASHED by his opposite number
- Made several crucial errors
- Got caught out defensively several times
Don't get me wrong, he really tried and sometimes these games just happen, so happy to write this one off as just one of those nights but he was really made to look second rate by Graham. In fairness to Herbie, he was massively let down defensively by Madden on his inside, so with Mam there, I don't think Graham has such an easy time of it.
Traits that are perfectly suited to the wing.He made a heap of meters because he is a selfish player who doesn't pass the ball. When he made them linebreaks he should look for support from his team. I 100% agree with you and Herbie would make a top notch winger but it will never happen. Herbie will never wear the 1 on his back while he's with us or while at dolphins now with Hammers signing.Traits that are perfectly suited to the wing.
Herbie confirmed he is a gun winger elevated to centre, rather than a gun fullback being relegated to centre. The jury is still out on what Selwyn is.
That said, it's still possible the Herbie/Jesse combo might be better than switching them around.
Herbie is pretty predictable: nine times out of ten he will do his little Barney Rubble step, and head back infield, whether he receives the ball at the end of a movement or from a kick. In the former, he will take on the sliding defence, usually beat his opposite centre but then face a wall of middles waiting for him. And that will be the end of the move. In the process he'll eat up a ton of metres but snuff out the momentum. His running metres stats will always look great.I 100% agree with you and Herbie would make a top notch winger but it will never happen. If Herbie gets the ball 10 metres out, his go-to tactic can result in a try, but he does the same 30 metres out and it almost always ends the same way. Capewell has made a meal ticket of the same move, but he's just as likely to pass it on, and his passing game is one of the best in the NRL. He doesn't tend to tuck it and hog unless he's close to the line. Walsh holds the ball with both hands, out in front. You don't know which way he's going to go next.
The team compensates by cutting Herbie out of most backline plays - sending it directly to the wing (kick, cut out, harbour bridge, whatever) - which is working a treat, when it comes off. When it doesn't it's called a Hail Mary.
Anyone in denial of Herbie's reticence to pass need merely look at his stats in this game (he has fewer receipts because he was binned for 10 minutes):
Campbell Graham: 20 receipts, 7 passes, 3 tries
Isiah Tass: 19 receipts, 11 passes, 0 tries
Kotoni Staggs: 21 receipts, 8 passes, 0 tries
Herbie Farnworth: 17 receipts, 1 pass, 0 tries
