CRICKET Big Bash Discussion

Jhye Richardson has made the decision to have surgery on his oft-injured shoulder, with an aim to return to cricket next summer.

It makes sense but sad. If it works though, he could still have a decent 5-6 year career.

On another note, nice to see Dixon finally get a debut in a format.

My guess for the Heat tonight:

1. Khawaja
2. Alsop (hopefully Munro is injured)
3. McSweeney
4. Labushagne
5. Renshaw
6. Bryant
7. Walter (if fit, otherwise Bartlett comes in)
8. Neser
9. Kuhnemann
10. Swepson
11. Johnson

12. Bartlett

These is a strong side, man I hope they don't pick Munro...please don't pick Munro.

I don't think the Heat have it in them this year, whether it's coaching or players down on form they just look lost in most games. Maybe Khwaja and Labuschagne get us the win tonight, but they can't help us in the finals.

Would love to see Hobart win it if we bow out. Tim David is such a joy to watch when he's in a mood and closing out a game.

Still feel like there are too many bowlers in this lineup ... it's basically dependent on Neser and Bartlett to fire with the bat.

They both can do that, but are they consider good enough to consistently get runs if wickets fall.

Ussie just got out so Renshaw comes to the crease, but only have Bryant and Alsop left as batters in the shed before Neser is out there.

Seems light to me

Why is that not a wide?

A reverse sweep is not like he's changed his guard... he's still facing up left handed and it went way down leg past the keeper and for a boundary.

It seems the way T20 is basically - like 3 or 4 actual bats, including your keeper, 3 actual bowlers and 5 or 6 bits and pieces cricketers who hopefully between them get some runs or not get smashed or both.

Except we have 5 bowlers... Neser probably a number 8 batter... and not getting much from our keeper most of the year.

Feel like the good teams are full of all rounders / batters that can part time bowl... and then needing your keeper to be a good batter / explosive hitter.

Heat look to be lacking in both those departments this year.

Damn... those 2's were starting to get very tight... was looking like a runout could be on the cards.

Right idea to be picking off 2's at the Gabba, but usually to the square boundaries instead of the short straight boundaries.

Looks like we've been premeditating these ramps to the short boundaries... comes off when the ball is full pace, but they're not changing their shot if they see a slow one come in.

Don't recall Bryant looking for the ramp in any of his innings this season, but pulled it out multiple times in this one... one of the first deliveries he faced was trying a reverse ramp, which almost spooned to Wade
