Similar vain to the underachievers, who do you think it is?

Is it Penrith, with their lacklustre halves and dependence on kicks to create their tries?
Is it Tigers with their almost reckless style of play that despite its excitement has produced remarkably few points, and yet still manage to notch regular wins (particularly the tight games)?
Is it the Warriors with a fairly makeshift side that's had Price out all year and Tate out for long periods and a host of other injuries?
Is it the Broncos with their incredibly young, inexperienced squad?

Personally I reckon it's Newcastle. Shit halves. Shit backs (other than Uate). Shit forwards. Shit coach. And yet suddenly they're as good a chance at making the top 8 as Parramatta, the early season premiership favourites.

LOLZ

penrith or the broncos.

penrith score all their points, and subsequently win all their games, through bombs. lets face it, when a bomb goes up more often than not its a lottery about who takes it.

the Broncos, well they had a HORRIBLE injury run for the first half of the year, and have the youngest and most inexperienced team in the league. pretty much everyone wrote them off before the year, then halfway through the year, and of course the phrase 'rebuilding year' has been said many times. now theyre basically guaranteed a finals spot, and can really push for the premiership.

West Tigers easily.

They haven't been playing well since Moltzen got injured yet they find themselves entrenched in the top 8.

At least with Penrith they have an awesome pack and some flashy players to take advantage of it.

The only other team that rivals the Tigers is the Warriors who have been incredibly gutsy.

The Tigers IMO. They've been the luckiest team this year, and have been fluking wins left, right and centre.

If macca had of gathered the chip/grubber in the dying stages. We had that game

Tigers for sure, everytime I watch them play I wonder how they are in the top eigth. Also The Broncos deserve a mention after 10 rounds we were looking horrible.

At the risk of sending things off topic, it's alarming how often Macca and handling error seem to come together...there was that one, his failure to gather a loose ball against the Roosters, his LOLZworthy dropped balls against Dragons and Cowboys....it's a trend that worries me.

It's still too early to tell, but if the Broncs make the prelims this year with an "enriched U20's" team, they will be by far the over-achievers.
How many of us really thought we would be in the race for a top 8 position at the start of the season, and even more so later on after our shocking amount of injuries and our sh!t run in the first 10 rounds...?

I hope that we get to face the Tigers in the finals; I'm still baffled as to how they are where they are on the ladder. Combination of luck and no origin players methinks; perhaps they faced other sides when key players were injured. As for their game against us; we played awful, but we still played better than the Tigers who stole the game out of our hands.

Definitely us.
Tigers not really TBH, they are such a lethal team, when they fix their defence they are very had to beat.

Penrith for being shit, just kick it and hope for the best. Newcastle to an extent, tbh I'm surprised they've even managed to win 5 games.

Newcastle have quiet a few decent players when you think about.

I rate Mullen extremely highly, although he hasn't done a lot since he was selected for Origin. Has so much potential though.

At the moment I have to say Penrith in terms of results. I personally don't rate their D at all but there they are at second on the table... I don't think it means the comp is shit (although it is - but only because the team rosters are heavily hindered) because they've just been winning games that people 'expect' them to lose. e.g Dragons/Manly/Broncos etc

However from what I can see if everything goes to plan the Broncs will go further in the finals than Penrith or Tigers so I think at the end of the comp The Broncos will be.

Has to be Brisbane. Noone ever underestimates us even when we are decimated by injury or missing players thru origin. All teams 'get up' to play brisbane. So with this in mind I think most people would expect us to make the eight but with the injuries and all the young blood and Henjaks second year syndrome surely what we have done so far is way above what other teams might have done in similar situations. That being said if we don't win the comp this year I'll be filthy.

Tigers.

Have arsed their way into a top 4 berth, when the going gets tough the Tigers go to shit.

I'll take Penrith overachieving thankyou, all Penrith fans expected was a top 8 berth, even with some narrow losses recently we should be in the 8 and we don't care about scoring 55% of our tries through kicks either. Although the last 2 weeks we scored 8 tries, none of them from kicks, so we're not relying on them so much now, its just about getting more ball to Jennings and Pritchard and Lewis has to be in the team as a ball playing lock, because our halves struggle to create with ball in hand. What about those boring Gold Coast Titans eh? about 60% of their tries have come from kicks, more than the Panthers but you don't hear whinging about the Titans reliance on kicks.

It has to be the Wests Tigers for biggest overachiever, by their own fans admission they've only played well 2 or 3 times all season, yet somehow have won 12 games.

Don't worry PantherPansy, we have been very vocal here about how poor and boring the Titans' style of play is [icon_wink
