Can't wait to see your choices

Best Player.. Ben Hunt
Best Forward... Corey PArker
Best Back... Justin Hodges
Most Consistent....Josh Mcguire
Rookie of the Year.... what rookie. Probably Daniel Vidot....he is newest to the club :P
Defensive player of the year....Ben Barba..Defensive Play, earlier in the year Hoffman hit the ball out of JT's hand when he was about to put it down to win the match.
Biggest Disappointment.. mmmm Ben Barba has been okay, but I think our coach has a lot to do with that! Probably go with Josh Hoffman tbh
Try of the year...mmm the one that comes to mind is the one jack reed scored off the kick off, probably not that one though!
Best Game..When we flogged the Knights!!!
Worst Game... when we lost to Cronulla </3 or the big loss against the rabbits

Best Player - Ben Hunt

When I think about the Broncos in 2014, this is the name I'm going to think of and I believe he was by far the Broncos most dangerous player and it was a sight to see him really back himself and take it to the line.

Best Forward - Josh McGuire

Josh channelled his inner mongrel all season and was absolutely relentless in the middle of the ruck getting through plenty of work for his Broncos team mates.

Best Back - Dale Copley

Technically this should go to Ben Hunt since he was the Player of the Year, but Dale deserves some recognition for his efforts this season and it was great to see Dale put a miserable 12 months behind him with a stellar season. He really announced himself this season and I really look forward to see what he's capable of moving forward.

Most Consistent - Josh McGuire

I don't recall too many poor games from Moose.

Rookie of the Year - Jake Granville

Really had some nice moments this season. It's a shame to see him leave but wish him all the best.

Defensive Play of the Year - Josh Hoffman on Cooper Cronk

After doing extremely well to stop Tomkins the week prior, Hoffman backed it up with a great tackle on Cronk who looked to have scored for all money. Hoffman was determined to prove he was the #1 and with plays like that he really did put his best foot forward.

Most Improved - Ben Hunt

And probably the most improved out of anyone in the competition. To basically go from a understated bench hooker to one of the form halfbacks of the competition is phenomenal and Ben's improvement was easily one of the highlights of the season.

Biggest Disappointment - Ben Barba

A lot of Broncos fans, myself included, were extremely excited to see what Ben was capable of in a Broncos jersey but unfortunately his ankle kept causing him problems and we rarely got to see him at full flight. I expect bigger things from Ben but as far as 2014 is concerned it wasn't the strongest first impression.

Try of the Year - Ben Barba vs Bulldogs R22

Fortunately Ben was able to achieve one highlight and that was scoring the best try of the season which saw the ball travel through multiple sets of hands before some quick thinking from Reed & Barba saw them combine for one of the most thrilling pieces of play of the season.

Best Game - vs Manly Round 12

Against the minor premiers the Broncos ran rampant on a glorious Sunday afternoon at Suncorp Stadium. The Broncos played extremely well that afternoon and it was an absolute joy to watch and an advertisement as to why they should receive more Sunday afternoon games.

Worst Game - vs Cronulla Round 16

The worst capitulation in the club's history and just a very disappointing evening on the whole. The Sharks had yet to score a point in two and a half games when the Broncos just fell asleep at the wheel and allowed the likes of Gallen and Carney to weave their magic. Easily ranks amongst the worst losses in club history and definitely one the fans couldn't forget quick enough.

Best Player: Hunt
Best Forward: Parker
Best Back: Copley first half of the season, Hodges second half of the season
Most Consistent: hard to say in a season where everyone was inconsistent.. Parker?
Rookie: Copley at centre
Defensive play: Round 23, Hoffman on Inglis (got destroyed but maybe he learned to stop going high on bigger players)
Most Improved: McCullough.. for the first half of the season, faded badly after that injury
Biggest Disappointment: Hoffman at 5/8 (Griffin's fault)
Try of the Year: Round 24 vs Newy, Hodges-Kennedy-Barba-Reed last try
Best Game: Round 3 vs Roosters, lost but really gave me hope this year would be different, false dawn.
Worst Game: Round 16 vs Sharks, disgraceful

Best Player: Ben Hunt

Best Forward: Corey Parker

Best Back: Ben Hunt

Most Consistent: Corey Parker

Rookie of the Year: don't think too many players debuted this year

Defensive Play of the Year

Most Improved: Ben Hunt

Biggest Disappointment: Martin Kennedy

Try of the Year

Best Game: round 12, against the Sea Eagles. WON 36-10

Worst Game: round 16 vs Sharks, LOST: 22-24. Although we suffered bigger defeats this year, they were mainly against far better sides than the Sharks. Especially after being up by 22 points. Regardless of the help they got from the incompetent men in pink, we should have won that game

Best Player: Ben Hunt

Best Forward: Josh McGuire

Best Back: Dale Copley.

16 tries. Kind of says it all.

Most Consistent: Corey Parker

Rookie of the Year: Jake Granville.

Defensive Play of the Year: Round 2, Hoffman on Thurston.

Brilliant effort. That effort stopped Cowboys from winning.

Most Improved: Ben Hunt.

Biggest Disappointment: Ben Barba

There is a reason why I chose Barba.

There was so much hype about the signing, so much talk about how we were going to see 2012 Barba at the Broncos and he would score so many tries and be our best player. However, he didn't deliver. I thought he was good in patches, but he didn't live up to the hype.

Try of the Year: Ben Barba vs Bulldogs Round 22.

Easy choice. Broncos didn't die with the ball and they were determined to break the Bulldogs hearts. They threw it around, they took a chance.

A good pass from Glenn, a brilliant piece of play by Reed and Barba scoring right in the corner where the away supporter bay is.

What was also good? The big **** you by Barba to the Bulldogs supporters.

Best Game: Broncos vs Cowboys Round 2.

Looking back, that was the best game for me. The atmosphere, the closeness of the game and the defensive effort from Broncos in the second half to stop a rampant Cowboys outfit from winning the game. I've never walked away from a game shaking so much in my life.

Worst Game: Broncos vs Sharks.

Best Player: Ben Hunt - The emergence of Hunt has been great to watch. It does make you wonder what might have been over the last few years if he'd been given a proper, extended shot at the 7. As a side note to this, watching mates of mine who did not rate him at all turn into absolute fanboys has been a treat.

Best Forward:
Parker

Best Back: This is a tough one. On consistency, I'd have to go Copley. Hodges was at times god like, and other times just got far too involved.

Most Consistent: McGuire. Whilst I felt Parker was our best forward, McGuire was more consistent IMO. How he didn't get a call up for Origin still has me scratching my head.

Rookie of the Year: Granville. Purely through lack of options.

Defensive Play of the Year: Hoffman on Cronk of course.

Most Improved: Ben Hunt obviously but considering he's playing a different position to previous seasons, it's hard to say. Special mention to Maranta after his last season. Would have liked to see him get a run @ FB.

Biggest Disappointment
: Kennedy but that had a lot to do with the coach IMO.

Try of the Year: Barba V Dogs. Ben Hunts little show and go to score gets a look in as well. The amount of times he did that lol

Best Game: Broncos V Manly at Suncorp. I hate Manly.

Worst Game: I didn't even watch it and I hated it. Broncos V Sharks.

Buy of the Year: Vidot, hands down.

Best Player

Corey Parker. Won't ever be accused of fading in and out of games and has THE best offload in the NRL. Leads from the front (I think we should revert back to one captain and he should be it) ...always taking the most HU's in the first quarter of the game....always there doing the same at the end. Seems to get genuinely pissed off and aggressive towards all opposing teams. Does everything I mentioned in spades, week in ...week out. Most valuable player in the team at the moment. IMO

Best Forward

Josh McGuire. Not far behind Parker for consistency. Gives it everything he's got. He's working hard on an offload......his work rate continues to expand and defensively, is one of only a few who can hold his head up at the end of season review.

Best Back

Very hard to split Ben Hunt and Justin Hodges. Both devastating in attack when on song. You want points out of your backs and both of these guys are the go to guys for that to happen. Hunt still has so many things to work on with his game...he's young and just beginning his NRL career. Hopefully what's deficient in his game now, will improve over time.

Hodges time is nearing the end. If he could improve anything in his last year, it would be his selection choice of when to inject himself into a game and when to recognise he's too involved and that it's killing the team's momentum.

Most Consistent

Corey Parker

Rookie of the Year

I'll go Dale Copley. Not really a rookie but he's had so many injuries and so little NRL time prior to this year, that you could easily forgive him as being one. Powerful runner with great movement.....speed to burn. Went better than most will give credit for with his defence. His hands are still the one concern I have with his game. Definitely improving....but still has his moments.

Defensive Play of the Year

I'm so disgusted with the teams overall defence that I can't honestly name one.

Most Improved

Daniel Vidot. I only caught a glimpse of him playing at the raiders and for the merge. He's surprised me. From what I previously thought of him (not very much) to this years performance...he's improved. Really need to work on his overall game as a winger, in every department.

Biggest Disappointment

Ben Barba. Was really looking forward to that one bit of spark.....that one bit of individual brilliance that Brisbane have been severely lacking in over the last few years. I thought his addition could make us a real threat in the competition again. So .. so let down by Barba. At times he looked devoid of all footballing ability.

Martin Kennedy. Was hoping for a bit more muscle...a bit more size....a bit more aggressiveness amongst out forward pack. The Martin Kennedy who played in the last few rounds (sans dropsies) was the guy we needed from the outset of the season. Too little ..way too late.

Try of the Year

R22 Ben Barba's effort just before half time. For once this season, Barba kept himself in the play after he'd been tackled and was rewarded with a good try. Pity this was a one off....more of it could have made so much more of a difference to our season.

Best Game

R22 against the Dogs. Kasiano was running riot in the opening 10 mins. It looked like it was going to be a tough day at the office. To surge forward and smash them 41-10 was a great effort. I despise Bulldog fans.

Worst Game

Hard to go past giving up that lead to the Sharks. Fucken woeful.

Buy of the Year

Daniel Vidot

Brisbane Broncos 2014 Season Review - NRL.com

Good article. The frustration summed up:

Round 3 v Roosters at Suncorp Stadium – Locked up at 12-all at half-time, the Broncos led 26-18 heading into the final five minutes only to be steamrolled by the Roosters who scored two tries in the final four minutes;

• Round 5 v Eels at Suncorp Stadium – Leading 18-16 just shy of the 70th-minute mark, the Broncos gave up another match-winning lead courtesy of a try to Eels' hooker Nathan Peats. Halfback Chris Sandow sealed the 25-18 result minutes later by booting a penalty and field goal;
• Round 6 v Titans at Cbus Super Stadium – Holding onto a slender 8-6 lead with seven minutes to go, Ben Barba lets a high ball bounce allowing Aidan Sezer to pounce and grab the match-winner;
• Round 8 v Rabbitohs at Suncorp Stadium – A Jack Reed try in the 68th minute gave the Broncos a 26-22 lead before a late try and penalty goal saw the Bunnies win 28-26.
• Round 16 v Sharks at Suncorp Stadium – Perhaps the turning point of Brisbane's season. The Broncos blew a 22-0 lead early in the second half only to be pipped 24-22 by the lowly Sharks in the 74th minute.

38 points is enough for minor premiership. At least a top 4 spot.

Best Player - Ben Hunt - Without him this year, we finish in the bottom 4 to say the least.

Best Forward - Corey Parker - Just gets better with age. Needs to improve goal kicking at crucial times though.

Best Back - Dale Copley (Hunt was player of the year) - Really announced himself this year which was fantastic to see. He keeps on getting better and better and I'm very interested to see what Bennett will do with him next year.

Most Consistent Josh McGuire - Was a regular contributor. Only problem I have with him is that is he capable of stepping up to the upper echelon of props like Scott, Bromwich, Graham etc

Rookie of the Year - Granville? We only blooded him and Molo this year

Defensive Play of the Year - Hoffmans one on one tackles

Most Improved - Ben Hunt enough said

Biggest Disappointment - Barba - I know Kennedy was a huge let down but I had extremely high hopes for Barba. He is the type of player you could build your teams structure around but it just didn't happen this year. Hopefully Wayne unlocks him next year. He looked promising on his first touch v Bulldogs in rnd 1 when he set the try up for Copley but it just fell away from there

Try of the Year - Hodges magic thru his legs. Just keeps coming up with that stuff.

Best Game - Warriors at Suncorp. We had to come back from a decent margin and finally nailed a close game.

Worst Game - Sharks game. In fact there we a couple where we should have won. The Melbourne game at Suncorp was pretty disappointing aswell.

Best Player - Ben Hunt, finally lived up to the expectations laid on him as a rookie and delivered with a superb first season as the fulltime halfback. Was close to making his Origin debut and it wouldn't surprise me if we got the halfback of the year award.

Best Forward - Corey Parker enough said. One of the best forwards in the game and the best lock all season.

Best Back - Justin Hodges. Despite missing some games he is still our most dangerous back and carried our backline at times throughout the year superbly. 2nd half performance on Saturday is testament to that.

Most consistent - Josh McGuire. Always put in 100% and did his job in each game

Rookie of the year - Jake Granville. Didn't blood anyone really but I would've kept this bloke.

Most Improved - Dale Copley. Went from someone who I didn't think much of to someone I rate but still has some work to do on his game but overall a terrific year and can kick on from it.

Biggest Disappointment - Ben Barba. Some may say Kennedy but I never really rated him and wasn't expecting much from him while on the other hand I thought Barba would bring some attacking skills and spark our backline but he had an average season. Has showed promise since his move to the halves but he still gets this spot.

Try of the year - The Hodges through the legs ball against the Titans at Suncorp was my favourite with the Barba one against Canterbury the next best.

Best game -
Beating the Bulldogs 41-10. Putting on attacking football like that showed what our backline is capable off and to see it after some below par stuff in attack over the last year and a bit was encouraging.

Worst game - The Sharks game

Buy of the year - Vidot, can't believe I doubted this guy before the season but he proved me wrong.

Best Player - Ben Hunt. This one is obvious. We wouldn't have been anywhere near the 8 without him.
Best Forward - Corey Parker, thin air, Daniel Vidot and then everyone else.
Best Back - Dale Copley. If he played well before that Origin game he was in the team. Unfortunately had a shocker and lost his spot to someone who played shocking every week except the week before Origin. For most of the year was the only player who looked like making a line break. Huge and fast, looking forward to seeing what he can do in the future.
Most consistent - Josh Hoffman. Ben Hunt was great but had a lot of bad games as well. Even at 6, Hoffman did a job. Defensively did well, attacking wise he did ok. But his game was always ok. Hardly any errors off the top of my head.
Rookie of the year -
Most Improved - Ben Hunt. There's not a lot I can say that everyone else hasn't. Hopefully has a bit more help from the rest of the players next year.
Biggest Disappointment - Ben Barba. Obviously Kennedy was shit for most of the season but we all expected Ben to tear shreds off everyone this year. Unfortunately this happened sparingly but he will be back.
Try of the year - VS the Knights from the kickoff. I jumped up out my seat when I watched it. Was great to watch us show that attacking flair we used to have back when Bennett was in charge ;)
Best game -
Beating Manly at home on a Sunday afternoon. Everyone here had given us no chance but the mood on BHQ afterwards was great.
Worst game - I don't want to talk about it.
Buy of the year - Daniel Vidot. His metres were invaluable. Hopefully learns some things during the off season. Could be a powerhouse winger. Watching him run over Widdop was great.
