GRAND FINAL WEEK Brisbane Broncos vs Melbourne Storm

I wouldn't be surprised to see talty in the 17 for smoothy.
I thought the same, but Talty only played 11mins yesterday... Smoothy offers so much versatility and a ball player if Patty needs a break.

Really interesting game.

We beat them a few weeks ago, but the circumstances mean that there's very little we can read from that result... They lost their halfback mid-game and their undisputed best player didn't play. On the opposite side, we were without Reynolds and Mam and had to overcome a critical sin bin too.

That game was the one where our team really clicked for the first time and since then we've gone up a gear every week, knocking off the minor premiers and 4x champions back-to-back, while Melbourne hasn't looked particularly impressive.

Alot will come down to who has the whistle.

Klein is painful and awful and the games are always disgusting to watch, but his penalty-happy nature will keep Melbourne in line in the ruck. However, he will fall for every single Harry Grant and Munster and Coates flops and attempts to milk.
Atkins will let the game flow more, but his hesitation to blow the whistle will be like yesterday against Penrith, where Melbourne will get free reign in the ruck all game.

Word today is that Atkins will get the nod, which I think actually gives us a better chance at winning.

On top of the 2 additional days, which I am glad as I said Madge has publicly said doesnt matter (it is an advantage either way for recovery), their road to the GF has been a cake walk, whereas we've gone to war twice.

No doubt they'll be fresher, but maybe we'll be more battle hardened.

I simply cannot wait.

Really interested to see what 17 is named on Tuesday, especially with how Madge normally sticks with what is named.

I'm expecting a straight swap of Patty in for Smoothy and leaving bench as is.

Hard luck story for someone but barring injury, Talty would drop out into the reserves for me.
I don't think it's going to be an issue only having Willison and Hetherington off the bench, Haas is going to play close to 80 like he did yesterday so there's not as much of a pressing need to have 3 forwards on the bench.

Mam off the bench is a good option, gives us flexibility for the halves + hooker (with Hunt/Paix/Smoothy) + Smoothy is a good option for 20-25 at 13.

Can't wait.

The thing i like hearing from the players is they are all saying "1 more" and payne in an interview said "I dont want to lose another grand final" (and he said it without a millisecond hesitation), also he talked about willing to die on the field lol....

I feel like in 23 we were grateful to be there. Talking about enjoying the week, making the best of it, great to be there... wtf.... who cares if you dont win!!!!

Dont know about the result but at least I know they wont die wondering.

Yeah possibly .... smoothy versatility might save him but yeah your right cant see madge changing too much

This. 2023 seemed for funsies. 2025 is BUSINESS

Payne Haas, that chase on big chin when he attempted the 2 point FG. The passion from Payne I have just never seen it before, the jersey cross rip.
Gooseys on every single replay.
Bloke is superhuman, he is a lock at $7 for the Clive.
Someone pls make it a gif.
