It was nice to see Charlie finally up and about. What a great win. The difficulty will be to find motivation without the need to win like we constantly had last year.

It really looks like it is a race in 4 or 5 this year:
Brissy
Collingwood
Geelong
The Gold Coast (I'm not sure they can go up a level come finals)
Hawthorn or GWS, not sure which one yet

The smoky is Adelaide outside of those teams and the Bulldogs but they are inconsistent and Adelaide can't beat the top teams when the pressure is on.

Charlie’s issues are the set shots on goal. Still elite at crumbing and snapping for a goal. Collingwood are the team to beat at this stage. they’re our next hoodoo to overcome. Hopefully we can just keep building towards finals without any injuries.

Yeah for sure. Collingwood look really strong this year. I expect to see another Brissy and Collingwood GF to be honest. I reckon we can get them when we actually play like we care.
 
Just watching the replay, how good is LAschroft going to be. Unreal we picked him and Will up in a premiership window. Our side is still so young too with some amazing talent to come to in Annable this year and some KPFs and KPDs next year. We also have Gallop gaining experience in the twos. The window is going to be wide open for the next decade, its nuts.
 
We really are playing like Jekyll and Hyde this season. Smashing the teams we should be finding hard and getting into arm wrestles with teams we should be smashing.
 
Levi subbed out. I'd rest him next week. He's so young, need to freshen it up for the second half of the season.

Wowee, not used to seeing us going to water when the pressure is on. That was a huge choke by us. We had so many chances to win it and couldn't nail even one. Bailey lost the plot and I think Dev just played his last game for us. You can't be sub and come on and turn momentum for the other side.
 
for a premiership side, it’s amazing how often we go goalless in some quarters.
 
Ahh nuts, that looks ACL for Payne, that is really difficult, he's impossible to replace. Back to back is going to be super hard, that's how important he is.

I think their inability to goal kick is going to keep them going back to back more than Payne’s injury.
 
They'll be fine but they do need to change some things up. Lohmann needs time in the twos, Levi needs a break and they desperately need the bye.

But I think the biggest take away of all is Charlie is really looking done sadly. Zorko and Lester are both showing signs of their age and Andrews is way out of form.

I am not worried overall though, we are good enough to come good and will when it matters I think.

I guess the positives are that we are getting and creating plenty of opportunities. We had 18 behinds and If we kick two more goals we win the game. If we converted half of those behinds into goals, it’s a blow out win.

With Payne out now, who steps in to fill that role? How far off is doedee?

For sure and GWS had a freakishly high accuracy, that won't happen again for years.

Brisbane have levels to go up, we'll be fine.
 
That was some win last night, they had Geelong covered completely. After the accuracy issues to come out and break a hoodoo that has been in place since 2003, especially on Danger’s 350th is pretty incredible.
