Home ground advantage. Honestly, that umpiring when it mattered was embarrassing.

I'm not blaming the loss on that either, we still would have butchered it anyway but Ashcroft gets dumped on his head and it is play on, a Collingwood player literally ran into our player nowhere near the ball, got a free and ran and scored.

But that loss is on Bailey, he was absolutely atrocious and not for the first time this year.

Rayner infuriates me too. missing directly in front off a gift free kick is unforgivable. A couple of weeks ago he pretty much called himself the next Dustin Martin. He’s been invisible ever since that interview. These guys are so full of themselves before finishing a job it’s near unbearable.

Hopefully these last two weeks light a fire in them but hey, how many times have we been here before. We can win it from anywhere but man, we are now likely to play Hawthorn week 1, we might as well not even turn up.

By winning convincingly in front of their home crowd and taking some form into the finals. Bowing out of the finals with a 4 match losing streak would be very broncos like.

Flicked over from the Cowboys/Raiders at HT.

As a casual observer, it seemed like the Pies were all over the Lions in that final quarter but were struggling to convert their opportunities. It felt like the Lions were lucky to have a lead and were relying on it too much. They just weren't in sync with one another and while that was a bad mistake from Bailey, you could highlight multiple 'efforts' that simply added up.

In the end, they left the door ajar and the Pies to their credit were good enough to take it when it mattered.

Saw a lot of talk about how the Lions appear to be making the same mistakes they were five years ago. It's probably a reflection on the senior players and how they've regressed, but it shouldn't come as a huge surprise given the injection of youth.

These are the type of games they're going to learn from - look at the Panthers the other night against the Storm.

Even a champion team is going to have blemishes.

Still, the Lions are so agonizingly close to glory but will the penny ever drop for them?
