What is the centre square for? Is it like a guidance of kicking distance for the players? Or is it to do with positioning from the bounce?

Only 4 players per team are allowed in for the bounce. Keeps it a bit more open so the ball can actually get out of the centre.

Outside of a nervous start, they never looked headed and kept their composure through out. When the game was there to be won, they were ruthless and took the Swans well and truly out of the game.
