CAPTAIN Ali Brigginshaw was the rock that guided the Broncos’ to back-to-back NRLW premierships last weekend.
Tonight she was honoured as the Broncos’ NRLW Player of the Year.
Brigginshaw has always been a pioneer in the sport of women’s rugby league, and is the current Australian Jillaroos’ captain.
And her leadership was on display in 2019 as she amalgamated 10 new players into the Broncos team, after a big turnover in player talent from the side that won the inaugural competition last year.

Somehow she still managed to catapult the Broncos to a grand final destruction, the 30-6 win over the Dragons last Sunday.
Brigginshaw was also named the team’s Best Back at the club’s Annual presentation Ball in Brisbane tonight.
Hard-hitting lock Rona Peters was awarded the Players’ Player trophy judged by her teammates.
Millie Boyle capped off a huge debut year in the competition by being named the Broncos’ Best Forward.
Boyle had already been nominated for the Dally M Player of the Year, and this week was selected for the Jillaroos.
Centre Amber Pilley was honoured as the XXXX Fan Player of the Year.

PAYNE Haas has continued one of the most sensational years by a teenage player in NRL history after being named the Paul Morgan Medal winner.
Haas, still just 19 years of age, was named the winner of the medal as the Broncos’ Player of the Year tonight.
At the start of this season Haas had played just three NRL matches as an interchange player for the Broncos before suffering a shoulder injury.
Just over six months later, he has been named Dally M Rookie of the Year, has represented NSW in State of Origin, and is on the cusp of a Test debut for the Kangaroos.

He ran away with the Broncos’ award on the back of his continuously-outstanding displays in the front row, despite missing the first four games of the season.
He finished ahead of front row partner Matt Lodge, who mounted a challenge through the second half of the NRL season.

Anthony Milford, Andrew McCullough and Alex Glenn made up the rest of the names on the final leader board.
Haas, who was not present on the night after playing with the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII in Fiji this afternoon, also took the Players’ Player award voted on by his teammates.
Lodge had to make do with being named Best Forward for his 2019 contributions.
Young centre Kotoni Staggs signalled his bright future by earning the Best Back trophy.
And the ever-present Glenn again took home the Most Consistent Player award.
Thomas Flegler and Pat Carrigan shared the Rookie of the Year award after their own strong debut seasons.
Jake Turpin and Tevita Pangai junior were named for the Play of the Year honour, after combining to produce the match-winning try against the Sharks in round 16.
Haas was also named the XXXX Fan Player.

True, It wasn't looking good for a while though LOL when he didn't get a few of the awards you thought he would.

And most consistent (although glenn has been consistent, hass has probably been as consistent whilst having a greater impact on games).

Best award and speech was Steve Parle on receiving club man of the year- terrific servant of the Broncos and young men.

Congrats to Glenn. Glad he got some well deserved recognition and I hope he captains our team next season. Though I’m not sure how the bench rotation will work. Make Glenn lock perhaps ?
