Storm last round, didn't see that coming.

Why are the NRL pushing that fixture so hard?

Third year in a row they've done it and on a fucking Thursday again.

Stop trying to manufacture the storm rivalry into something... they have better rivalries with other teams (manly, sharks, wahs, rorters, panthers), but nah let's keep pushing this one because Bellamy, Qld players and broncos winning a game in 2006.

Storm don't even have that many Qld reps anymore

People like to play the victim a bit. The draw is fine. Byes fall nicely for us yet again

I don't like us going two consecutive byes over origin.. the dream byes over origin is game 1 and 3... not sure which team got that this year, but it's been storm the last few years.

I don't mind our byes this year though.

First bye being game 1 fucked us last year, because it was 12 games straight after a shortened pre-season... we looked completely busted by the time we got to it... but having a full preseason this year and game 1 being a week earlier means 11 straight this year and might be more manageable.

I like the Rd 20 bye post origin... creates a reset after origin to focus on the run into the final.

I haven't liked our late year byes in recent years, because if the team is good enough you can potentially rest players creating an additional bye... back end of 2023 we had a bye in like Rd 25 and then rested everyone in Rd 27... I think it can become disruptive... but a Rd 20 bye looks pretty good with Origin finished by Rd 19

No issue with the draw from me but I'll never understand the logic of teams playing each other twice within a minimal amount of rounds.

I think the thought process is NRL blocking the game into 3 periods... start of the year, origin and run to the finals.

So having teams play each other twice within either the first or last period means the media can build off whatever happened in game 1 and the result remains fresh in the viewers mind.

If the game finished tight or had a controversial finish then the media plays on that for the next game and it's really fresh in the public's memory if it occurs again within a couple weeks. Probably helps them to manufacture mini rivalries, which seems to be the only way the media can promote any games.

Still dumb that we can't get the prime 4pm spot for a home game though.

It appears that we now play more Sat/Sun games than Fridays. NSWRL at its finest.

I’m already fuming at the fact that ‘The Rejects’ have stolen our Magic Round Friday night time slot.

I actually don’t mind the draw. Might vs a lot of top 8 teams from last year but the ladder changes every year anyway.

Vs Panthers once at Suncorp (away game), and storm round 23 & 27. In my mind they are the only teams I am scared of, I think we can beat everyone else.

Just need to get off to a strong start and could set us up for the rest of the season like we did in 2023.

I'm just happy we haven't had an early season bye yet. Having a bye in rounds 1-5 would really suck.

I get the sentiment but sunday arvos are the best for families, live footy is a great time for kids. Think of it as exposure therapy, the more sunlight they play in then maybe they won't be so shit at it.
