OFFICIAL Broncos 2025 Draw

Funny, last year 95% of media outlets disregarded the Vegas travel time. Now all of a sudden it is counted? Wonder what changed....

Jeez it'd be nice to only have 4 return flights for the team. Why aren't the media going on about this?! We only had 9 last year (including vegas) and people were going on like the players were playing xbox in their loungeroom all year.
Yep... typical Sydney centric garbage and pandering to the anti-broncos brigade.

Every Sydney team (except sharks and panthers due to Vegas) is lower than all the other teams in the comp... yet they will talk about Broncos having how ever many games at Suncorp this year... like Dolphins aren't exactly the same nowadays... but there is no anti-fins brigade as yet... so no clicks to farm.

No media or public uproar about Jonah pezet giving up millions to sign with the storm? Strange...... but I'm sure he has a link with the local Melbourne area he grew up in I suppose

They are the biggest villains in Rugby League. Even Roosters and Panthers don't come close.

Still effectively cheating the cap.

Can't get over people supporting them "BeCAuSe ThEy HaVE QlD OrIGiN StArS "

again i ask ... did he give up millions?

all that was reported is that he rejected the Knights $2.5 million over 4 years offer. the reporting doesn't say what his contract with the Storm is worth ... they don't even say if he signed with them for less.

So youre suggesting the pay was close to the newcastle offer? So they are paying their back up half (arguably 2nd on that list as well due to wishart progressing) and back up fullback (who would get a starting spot in at least 4-5 teams as well) a combined million each year? Hmm now that would be suss, I like your argument! Makes it even worse.

I'm not suggesting anything. i'm saying we don't know what he was offered by the Storm. all we do know is that the Storm bowed to his demand that a get-out clause be inserted into his new contract.

but let's look at this logically instead of hysterically.

The Knights offer was $650k per year. that's not the monster offer the media would have you believe (especially for a number one half). $2.5 million certainly sounds more impressive.

now, since all we can do is assume ... let's make the logical assumption that there is no way the Storm signed him for 4 years at half of the Knights offer (which would be $325k a year). Given they agreed to a get-out clause, they clearly expect him to be their starting halfback for the second half of his contract.

so logically, there is a good chance the Storm have back ended the contract giving him maybe $400k - 450k per year in the first two years of this contract moving up to $600k to $650k for the second two years ... so at most he would be sacrificing $500k - $600k (over 4 years, not "millions") to stay at the Storm.

@Super Freak is right, that's just a smart decision. going to the Knights is a career killer, especially for a half

It also doesn’t start until 26- when he could well not be the back up half. Storm is getting plan B ready. In 2026 they could have their next half tied up already. Having your starting half for 27 even if it is going to be 600k is a bargain.

So he has 25 playing Cup coming back from an ACL on his old contract then obviously think 26 he could be playing a much bigger role. Hughes comes off contract in 26 too.

Personally I think Roosters are much worse. When's the last time Storm had a big off season signing? They can afford to re-sign their players because they don't buy great players, they make them great and then hold onto them. Roosters on the other hand buy great players every year, run them into the ground, then **** them off for someone better while still managing to hold the ones the want to keep.

Coates. Utoikamanu.

So two half decent players in 4 years both of which coming from bottom 4 teams.

Two half decent players? Playing origin / being highly rated and a future national player are half decent?

And given these are among the best players in said bottom four teams - isn't this what the salary cap is supposed to achieve the OPPOSITE of?

And also, why the heck do we have so many freaking Storm apologists on this forum? Have we not seen what they've done to us for 20 years on the back of massive salary cap cheating?
