I just heard on the radio that the leagues club is $10 million in debt.

Selling $2.2 million in assets to stay afloat.

The news also said that they are joining with the Easts Leagues Club (where Easts will run the Broncos Leagues Club). And a deal will be announced later rbis week.

I didn't realise they were in trouble... I thought they were profitable like the Football club.

Yep, I saw this on the news...and it's bad news :(

Was in this mornings SM. Broncos will effectively only own the assets with Easts managing the club

I caught a glimpse of it and just assumed that Easts were in trouble & the Broncos LC was going to bail them out in order to have a stake in how they're run. Like make them an affiliate that is much tighter controlled in terms of who comes through the ranks, use them for experimenting on players etc. Which of course now I think about it doesn't make sense, as it'd be the Broncos themselves who would have to organise that.

Simply the thought of the BLC being that much in debt was dismissed in a micro-second. Can't really believe it TBH.

Yes they put a new manager ( Bob Cutmore) in a quite few months back and he has been working his way through the mess, reducing staff and cost where necessary.

Glaringly obvious. The club was just short a few Bob. ;)
